AL CENTRAL

Tigers will be fine once all the injured get back in thier roles.

Zumaya is now back and working the 8th ... I wish it was the 9th, but it's not , for now ...
I can see Rodney being gone next year and don't have any idea what we got Lyons for ... for the 9th ? He's pitched pretty poorly from what I've seen.

You right though, the starters have to go deeper into games.

Verlander has had 3 strong outings in a row now, going at least 7 ...

Jackson has pitched well for the most part, a little defensive support would be nice for him.

Gallaraga has been good , but not great, bad the last two outings though.

It's still early :)

Tiger fans have more hope at this time than last year.

Around this time a year ago, they were underachieving.

This year, they're treading water- a huge improvement- and, IMO, can catch fire when Interleague Play starts (the year they won the AL pennant, I remember they absolutely DEMOLISHED the Cubs in a three-game series)

Dontrelle Willis is scheduled to start for the Tigers on next Wednesday. God help the Tigers.

We can sure use another dominating performance from Verlander tonight. We got the Tribe right where we need them. A sweep here, and Matt will be reviving last years "What's wrong with the Tribe" thread.:D

Lol, I almost brought that one back the other day, but looked at the date on when I originally started it last year (June '08). I am trying to remain patient. I have to at least give them 1/3rd of a season or until the end of the month before I have a mass freak out. :D

Your only 7 games out, but you have to crawl over the whole division to get to the top. that will be hard to do in this division. Especially the way the Royals are playing. I knew they would be respectable, but they are playing at a higher level than I expected. They'll come back down to earth. But then I said that about Tampa Bay last year.......

If I were you, I'd wait until Interleague Play is over.

Cleveland could put together a good stretch against the NL opponents they face this year.

YOWSA, HD! I've been perusing the Plain Dealer and they are just about all calling for Wedgie's head on a platter...some along with Shapiro's!

The natives be resteless!

From Ken Rosenthal:

The Indians, desperate to bolster their bullpen, intend to sign right-hander Luis Vizcaino, according to a major-league source.
Vizcaino, released by the Cubs, will either join the Indians immediately or report to the minors for several tune-up appearances. The Indians' 6.65 bullpen ERA is the second-highest in the American League. Three of their pitchers — starter Jeremy Sowers and relievers Masa Kobayashi and Matt Herges — combined to allow the Red Sox to score 12 runs without recording an out in a 13-3 loss in Boston on Thursday. Vizcaino, 34, made four appearances for the Cubs before being designated for assignment on April 23, pitching 3 2/3 scoreless innings.

At this point KCK, I think Jesse Orosco could pitch better than the flamers we're sending to the mound recently.

Tigers and Indians in an old fashion pitchers duel.
Both Verlander and Lee pitching great, into the 8th ...

1-0 Tigers

Verlander has 10 K's in the 8th, given up only 2 hits ...

On to the 9th :)

Jimbo

Bottom of the ninth, man on and Sizemore at the plate ....
Indians trailing 1-0 to the Tigers and Verlander ...

What more could you ask for ???

Sizemore hit's it OUT to win the game ...... but wait, Sizemores counterpart Curtis Granderson goes over the fence and brings it back .... :D

J.V. get the next batter for his 11K and the Tigers win !

Oh go screw yourself. :p ;) :D

The Battle of the Center Fielders! I LOVED IT! That was an ol' Ken Griffey, Jr. patented STEAL from over the yellow line!

No one should hang their heads over this one. As a fan it was a joy to watch.

Treading Water ???

2 games out of first place is hardly treading water ...

Where's your team at currently ?

Last night's game was one for the ages. Verlander and Lee going toe to toe, inning after inning. Cy Young past vs. Cy Young future. All this finishing with "THE CATCH".

I would like to thank the tribe second baseman for inexplicably double clutching that throw to first allowing Granderson to score.

And to think there was a time when Cleveland would have loved to see Verlander on the hill. They should see him 3-4 more times tops. Don't think they are looking forward to that.

OK, who actually PLAYS sports?

Shaq once had a video game of his own- a fighting game!
