AL CENTRAL

But that was a damn fine game till Mr. Wood came in. You could tell after the 3rd or 4th pitch that he was "off" last night.

Yep. Woody usually commands the Strike-Zone. I could tell he was off last night. No worries though. This guy has looked tremendous in almost every other outing this year.

I agree. I'm probably in the minority, but my favorite type of game is a 1-0 pitchers duel.

Lets be honest, despite the fact that the Indians are only 3.5 games out in the AL Central, the offense cannot continue this amount of inconsistency if it plans on staying in contention all year long.

So the question begs to be answered. How long until our two young outfielders Matt LaPorta and Michael Brantley, whom we acquired in the CC Sabathia trade get called up from Columbus?

Of the two, LaPorta is the most ready. LaPorta is spending time in AAA between the corner outfield spots and First base, but his quickest route to the majors is in Left field. Ben Francisco is struggling right now and it's his spot up for grabs.

LaPorta's stat line reads as follows: .400 BA /5 HR/13 RBI/ 19 runs/1.245 OPS.

More importantly though, LaPorta has only six strike outs in 67 at-bats.

LaPorta has a lot of upside. I don't see why we wouldn't want to see this kid sooner rather than later.

Stay tuned Tribe fans...

Yeah...LaPorta is absolutely tearing up AAA. I like Trevor Crowe and think he's going to be a decent player, but I'd like to see him and LaPorta "switch teams."

Nice win for the Tigers. One helluva pitching display by both Verlander (about time!), and CC Sabathia. Three in a row, and another game between us and Cleveland, in the standings. Jackson vs. Hughes tonight. We caught the Yankees at the right time of the season.

And Cleveland has caught Boston at the wrong time of the season. Hang in there, Matt.

Words of encouragement to sad Tribe fans.

In Eric Wedge's 6 season as Tribe manager, the Indians have finished the month of April with a losing record 5 times. We're par for the course so far. Things will get better. I hope.....

You guys definitely hit a "buzzsaw" with Boston. Was that 11 in a row for them?

Yep, 11.

But we still have 2 games left against them. We're determined to break the streak up.

BTW, once we turn the calendar to May, the Injuns visit Motown for a 3 game series against the Kittens. Can't wait for that one.

How many games out will you be by then?:D Three games might not change your standing much.

Sorry, got to get my shots in while I can.;)

You guys are playing the Yanks, right? I don't think you'll sweep them and I don't think the Red Sox will sweep us. We'll be sitting pretty with a chance to make up some serious ground on Friday.

Exactly! Sooner or later the Red Sox will come back to earth, and the Indians will be contending for the AL Central crown. :up

It's all part of the marathon that is the baseball season.

Isn't that what you said a week ago?

Like I said my man. I've got a tune in my head I like to march to. It's a little ditty by Journey called "Don't Stop Believing". :)

I live in Believeland after all! A lonely city in NE Ohio where with enough belief and promise, any thing can happen! If someone was to say I had nothing to believe in, well that would ruin all of the years I've wasted watching sports. So with that said, I chose to keep the faith that someday one of my teams will pull through. I want to see grown men on the streets cry. I want to high-five random people on the streets out of pure joy. I want to Believe that we are just around the corner from achieving the ultimate prize. I want our city to be known as a Champion. It may not be this year or next. But if I keep on Believing, one day it will come true.

Just stand outside Ford Field after a Tigers game!!!!!!

It's coming in June, Bro. Your Cav's time has arrived.

If the Cavs are lucky enough to make it to the Finals this year and they have a clinching game at home, you better bet your bippy I will be on the streets of Cleveland waiting to celebrate the night away with my local brethren. I often have dreams of what I'd do if that day came. Honestly, I just want to soak up as much of the memories as possible to live vicariously in the moment.

OK, who actually PLAYS sports?

Shaq once had a video game of his own- a fighting game!
