AL Central 2010

What a joke. I hope this is a catalyst for long-overdue instant replay in MLB.
Not me. Even though this is one of the worst calls I have ever seen, bad calls are part of the game and always have been. Imagine how much lag time will be created with looking at all close calls? Not only will it slow down the game it can actually impact the game in a negative way. Pitchers having to sit around while waiting for calls can have a negative affect.

Why not just get rid of umps all together? We have technology know to where each strike can be called, each ball can be determined fair or foul, and each play out can be called safe our out by using cameras, sensors, and computers.
+2...baseball is just fine without instant idiocy.

Rumors going around about Selig reviewing the call, and possibly overturning it. Sorry, but we got the cameras there every game , everywhere. It's time for instant replay, it could be instituted the same way the NFL does it. Congrats to Gallaraga on an outstanding performance. That catch Jackson made on the first pitch of the 9th made me forget all about Granderson.

And Jackson has 3 more hits today so far.... scored a run and hitting a cool .341 so far in his rookie year !!!

Edit:
Make it 4 hits, 2 doubles and a single and a double that potentially could have been a inside the park Home Run, ground rule double.or at least a stand up triple.

So totaling it up he's got 3 doubles and a single.

Paul, this cannot be your primary argument - the NFL instant reply is still dismal after many, many years. However, if the MLB were to implement their instant replay opposite of everything the NFL has done...well, then perhaps you'll win my vote. ;)

At this point, Brennan Boesch the rookie of the year? Jackson was the early favorite, now he can't seem to find consistancy.

Both have been striking out alot lately.

Jackson still hitting .320. waiting for him to snap out of his current funk.

Use to say as Granderson goes, so goes the Tigers, now it's Jackson that is setting the table for big things. Jackson has been in somewhat of a slump and the Tigers offense cannot get it going.

Tigers always seam to hit when the bull pen comes in. can't do much with Starters though, matter of fact, they have made some good to avg. pitchers look great of late.

Raise your hand if you are going to miss this non-hitting SS. Like I said earlier, look for a trade soon.

Donny Worth has come up to play SS for the moment.
He went down when Guillen came back and now he's back, he was hitting .330 or there abouts !

He plays great D , if he can hit better than Everett he may stick.

Personally, if they can get a stud SS, Great, otherwise .... Rentaria was a bust.

Good points all around Jimbo.

I like both guys don't get me wrong, I believe Jackson is the real deal. I just think Boesch might be that bona-fide lefty we've been dying to get.

I like the look in both of these guy's eyes, heart determination, and winning spirit.

If Leyland wants to get Boesch going even better, when Ordonez is out of the lineup he should move Brennan into the #3 spot in front of Cabrera and have Guillen hit behind Cabrera

WEEI's Dennis and Callahan to be simulcast live on NESN

Don't look now, but Steve Lavin is making St. John's relevant again
