Tigers lose .... the the Twins lose tooooo.
Neither team wants to pull away apparently.
Tigers are 6-4 and Twins are 5-5 in the last 10.
Close races are more fun though. I predict another game 163.
I don't see a 163, but I do see them going down to the wire regardless of how far ahead one gets from the other, remember the Twins were no where in sight last year, till thier amazing run at the end.
I agree Jimbo
It will come down to the last week
I think he might be the best thing we have for a closer right now. I was worried when they were going to go with "bullpen by committee" in spring training. I mean he isnt the "premier" closer that some teams have but I guess for us as long as he can save games thats all we hope forTwins still lack a Closer they can believe in.... but they have time to work on that too.
How do you feel about thier current Closer Ice ?
The Twins usually dont do things like that (make deals). They believe in the farm system (which has worked)I'm really surprised they didn't/don't go out and bring Smoltz back, to me, that would put the Twins as a clear favorite again.

until he royally screws up, its Jon Rauch's job to lose
Kerry Wood blows another save. Leaves the mound in a baragge of "boos". Proceeds to chuck baseball mitt into stands.
Grady Sizemore sent to DL with deep bruise to left knee.
The most indispensable Indian next to Sin Soo Choo, Asdrubal Cabrera collides into Jhonny Paralta after going after infield grounder. Fractures arm. Out 8-12 weeks.
Indians are now 0.5 games away from last place in the AL Central.
Meanwhile, the arguably best player in AAA is being held hostage while the Indians refuse to call him up. The name: Carlos Santana. Remember that name. Once called up, he'll make his impact be known around the league. Then when his contract is up, he'll be swallowed up by the Yankees or someone else with deep pockets. Baseball is broken and until it's fixed, my Tribe is doomed. It will be an endless cycle of developing talent. Hoping they all blossom at the same time to make a run, then trade them all away and hope for something, anything in return before they become too expensive for us to afford them. A sad state of affairs to say the least.
Didn't they also go thru this cycle in the '90's, got very good for awhile and then sold them off ....
Ala the Marlin's ? - the ring
More solid pitching by the 1st place Tigers for a 5-2 win. Anyway, I am looking forward to the upcoming interleague play starting tomorrow.
