According to 'Sports by Brooks', Urban Meyer is new....

.... "I know, I know … coaches lie, because if they don’t, they’ll get demolished on the recruiting trail by unscrupulous competitors." -- From Hart5150's link

No truer words have ever been said. And they wonder why coaches do not rank high with me as to why I would go or recommend a school....

Jeez this is almost as bad as quitting a head coaching job one day after you accept it...then taking a head coaching job in the same division instead.

Moral high-ground kinda guy that you are, I'm sure you would NEVER want a guy like that running YOUR team.

Right? ;)

Not to hijack the thread, but that was karma, and karma is a b.

I think Tuna and Mr. Hess got a taste of their own medicine!

LOL Exactly Bill...one person's outrage is another person's karma. Depends what part of the food chain you're on for that particular situation.

LMAO! OK.... LMAO!

Anyways....

HD... like I said, do I think there will be a steady stream of Florida recruits heading to Columbus. No, Florida kids...especially the real good ones, know that pro style offenses are played in Florida, Florida State and Miami...and for the most part at USF as well. The other good recruits will hear out to the SEC and mostly the East coast as I have seen alot of recruits on campuses in the Big East and ACC. I DO think that the big time recuits that DO wanna leave that could be hogged up by Meyer...but like I said, for the most part, those kids wanna stay close to home because everything they want to play on Sundays is right here in the the state and in the Southeast.

:)

Just the other night we went and took a look at the players from Florida on other rosters, there were plenty,
LSU, ALABAMA and OHIO STATE all had about the same number of Florida players.

Urban WILL get the Florida players that WANT to leave the area.

That said, of course the MAJOR Florida schools should get the top players if they want to stay in the area, at least they BETTER get them.

I think we're all avoiding a very important subject here...what the heck is Sports by Brooks? They got this early, and got it right.

Sandra

This is what I had pointed out the day I saw it.... They were accurate on several items with OSU of recent times, but everyone blew it off ...

Sports by Brooks has been around for a while and has been a very reputable site when it comes sports reporting. ESPN thinks that they are too big to give anyone credit especially when they are outscooped. AND I am sure the ESPN might have been quite red-in-the-face that 'one of their own' had all this going on and they sort of were left in the cold.

I dont think thats the case, ESPN and the other BIG sites have to make sure they have a number of confirmations before they will report it (usually).

The smaller sites can run with it without and negative response if it turns out differently.

Belichick just came out and said he did not want to coach the Jets, he did not say he was in failing health or needed to spend time with his family. Plus the Jets got compensation for him.

If Urban would of just said I don't want to coach here anymore because I can't take recruiting against Saban, Miles, Fisher Spurrier and Chizik and he is quitting he wouldn't be viewed as a liar. A douche, yes, but not a liar.

Really glad Urban didn't have to go back to Florida, you'd have to find something GOOD to say about him

Never said he wasn't a great head coach, because he is.

He will out coach and recruit Hoke, Bilema, Dantonio and every other coach in the Big 10+2 with ease.

As we've already said, there are MANY factors that go into recruiting in all sports. And coaching is definitely one of them.

Sandra

Did you notice in MY POST where I was talking about MY REASON as to why it is not as high on MY LIST?

Not anyone elses? ;)

There you said THE sentence that 2 Buckeyes don't seem to get. Yes, Meyer will get plenty THAT WANT TO LEAVE... But if you look at the player rosters of The U, FSU and UF...the majority stay. Some don't seem to get that.

Like I said EARLIER.. That how it has always been and always will be.

That's just it...tgey DID have confirmations. ESPN missed the boat. They were immersed in the Penn State scandal...that they ALSO were getting their a$$e$ kicked by CNN...they missed out on one of their own guys. LMAO!

But thats the way it is with most MAJOR teams and thier state... the ones that want to get away from home, will always go.

Oh well.

I'm still trying to figure out when Yahoo and others got thier own Police dept and news reporters.

Dood...why do you fight this battle? There is no point, and you just give more fodder to the haters. We got the coach we wanted...so just sit back, watch and enjoy Urban Meyer building the Buckeyes back to where we belong. We gonna find out, Nnamdi... ;)Sandra
Nnamdi? What does Asomugha have to do with Ohio State football?!
