According to 'Sports by Brooks', Urban Meyer is new....

Not pissed at anyone, just posting facts. And I don't know why they care if their coach is a liar or not? He is going to run rough shot over that conference. Like I said earlier in this thread, which was ignored, it's going to be like shooting fish in a barrel when he goes against Hoke, Bilema, Dantonio and others.

I'm not ready to start etching Ohio State's name into the Stagg-Paterno Championship Trophy just yet.

As I've said before, when Rich-Rod tried to bring the Spread offense to the Big-10 a few years ago, it was a terrible failure. While I'm confident in Urban's plan to add whatever wrinkle he sees fit, it'll be an adjustment.

I was just pointing out statements the Urban Myth has made in the past. If you can't come to grips with the fact that you're new coach is a lying a$$hole, than nothing I say here will change that. I get it, you want a winner. You're from loserville. Every time the browns, cavs or Indians take the playing field it is a certain loss. So now you have to cling to the one thing thay might produce a winner and defend it with all your might. Good luck waiting until next September for the next meaningful sporting event in loserville.

Easy there compadre...little low below the belt there. Come on dude...you are better than that....

This just illustrates that Meyer is no different than other top nomadic coaches; he says what's right and expected at the time, but is not hesitant to do what's right for himself later when an opportunity arises. The digital age has just made it easier for us to call him on it....

But when it comes to college coaches...whether promising a kid playing time or promising alumni/fanbase you are staying.... it more often than not tell...ah...not telling the truth...

Playing time, yes. Of course even then, they cant really know until they get the kid on campus, so the probably go with what they think at the time (they think he is a stud, or they wouldnt want him), and mixed in with that is what the kid wants to hear.

Bingo!

Oh my goodness, HD, time for me to go all Mike Ditka and say STOP IT! Seriously, dood, you are fighting an unwinnable and, more importantly, unnecessary battle here.

There is no need to defend Urban Meyer!!! Did he lie/change his mind/whatever? Who cares?

What we thought was the last pure coach in America was just fired in disgrace, and allegedly and arguably enabled a child molester to run free and ruin lives for an additional decade or so.

Every person who is in here hating on Urban Meyer roots for teams that are coached by men who at one time or another said one thing and did another. It happens. They're not in here defending their coach, and you don't need to be in here defending our coach.

Urban Meyer is the coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, that's all that matters now. If it makes people feel better to attack him...WHATEVER. I hated Meyer when he coached Florida too...because his team destroyed my team!

All that will matter is what happens on the field...and I feel pretty good about that, regardless of what's said on the internets!

IMO I think it's good for both parties that he is going to Ohio state but this comment about Cleveland well...................................hahahahahahaha :D ;)

Two thoughts on Urban becoming Buckeye coach:

1. Good hire, great recruiter, and he's a winner everywhere he went.

2. There is a bit of surprise to this given that he beat these Buckeyes to win a national title a while back.

What does any of that other stuff have to do with Ohio State and Urban ?

What make you think that just because someone lives in Ohio that they have to root for the Ohio teams ?

I live in Ohio and I root for the Steelers, Red Wings, Tigers s well as the Buckeyes.

Your painting with a pretty broad brush there.
And if HD wants to root for the Ohio Teams, good for him, he actually LIVES in one of the cities.

Don't know why you think you have to discourage peopel in all your posts, from the negative that comes from your posts the only LOSER appears to be YOU.

Just joshin' ya..... ;) (but really? the Red Wings??? and the Lions???) :)

Been following the Wings and Lions since I was very young, the WINGS were VERY BAD back then, was also a Bruins fan (Bobby Orr) back then.
Lions and Tigers have been since I was a child as well, came from my grandfather, probably late '60's I'd guess.
Got into the Wings seriously around mid 80's just before Yzerman was drafted.

But those are MICHIGAN teams.(!) I grew up near Dayton, a HUGE Reds fan, and Dayton Flyers basketball, and there was a hockey team in Dayton to at Hara Arena, though I don't recall the name. Never got in to the Bengals or the NFL (high school football and the Buckeyes), though I do remember going to see a game when Kenny Anderson was QB. We sat very close to the front row. They couldn't sell tickets then, either! ;)

I guess you live close to the Meeshegann border, so that might be why. Or did your Gramps come from MI?

Oh damn, I forgot the Big Red Machine as well.
Your hockey team in Dayton was or is the Dayton Flyers, been there a few times, back then, they had mesh screen around the rink.

If I could Golf, I could hit a drive from my house to the Michigan line.
A can see it from the house and if the wind blows just right, I can smell Ann Arbor !
