According to 'Sports by Brooks', Urban Meyer is new....

I think we're all avoiding a very important subject here...what the heck is Sports by Brooks? They got this early, and got it right.

I don't remember seeing on the ESPN crawl 'as reported on Sports by Brooks Urban Meyer accepts head coaching position at Ohio State'. I just remember seeing 'ESPN has confirmed thate ESPN dot com is reporting that ESPN analyst Urban Meyer will join Ohio State. Details on ESPN3'

Sandra

Sports by Brooks has been around for a while and has been a very reputable site when it comes sports reporting. ESPN thinks that they are too big to give anyone credit especially when they are outscooped. AND I am sure the ESPN might have been quite red-in-the-face that 'one of their own' had all this going on and they sort of were left in the cold.

ESPN is slipping as of late. The two latest HUMONGOUSLY huge stories from the Sports World did NOT come from Bristol....

Don't let me dig it up, but when I posted about this initial scoop from Sports by Brooks, YOU were the first to doubt it and say that your "boy from the inside" doubts it too. Time to come clean NnamdiDancer

Wait. I thought you said Florida football recruits would rather go to Florida Community College or Floridian Sisters of the Poor University rather than Ohio State? Where did Florida, Fla State and Miami come from?

FROM MY POST:

....Do I think he will steal the prize recruits of Florida? Not really, Florida kids have ALOT of alliances to Florida schools. Especially with up and coming programs at UCF USF and FIU.

That includes ALL schools Homerboy.;)

........."ESPECIALLY........... UCF USF and FIU". -Salsadancer7 direct quote

But let's not pay any attention to your own words. Moving on....  !sadroll

LMAO!!!

Not "SCHEMATICS!" baby... ONE WORD says it all: Florida kids have ALOT of alliances to Florida schools. <----- ALSO a "Salsadancer7 direct quote"!;)

That means to all schools Buckeye... From "Florida Community College" to "Florida Sisters of the Poor" to Florida State.

You flip flop more than a pancake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually HD, you left out a key part of his quote. He didnt say especially schools like (insert the mid majors).
He said expecially WITH schools like (mid majors) and talked about them gaining ground in the recent past., which I took to mean it will get even harder.

Do I think he will steal the prize recruits of Florida? Not really, Florida kids have ALOT of alliances to Florida schools. Especially with up and coming programs at UCF USF and FIU.
So your direct quote left quite a bit out and changed the context.
Just my observation

I'm not sure how else there is to interpret this statement..

Do I think he will steal the prize recruits of Florida? Not really, Florida kids have ALOT of alliances to Florida schools. Especially with up and coming programs at UCF USF and FIU.

---than to assume he meant that Florida kids have a lot of ties to Florida schools. Especially UCF, USF and FIU. If Salsa didn't mean that, then I accept his apology for misunderstanding what he was trying to say.

PLEASE...why bring logic to totally and completely destroy his homer-rific rant??!! ;)

I mean I really do not understand what part of "alliances to Florida schools" does he not understand?!

HD, HD, HD. I warned ya to stay out of this kind of no-win argument! Nobody can prove anybody wrong in this debate, since the recruiting process hasn't even started yet.

Seriously you should just let the Urban Meyer chips fall where they may. I don't care if he recruits Ohio, Florida, Utah, Kentucky, Indiana, Walla Walla, Bora Bora, Antarctica or all of the above.

I'm confident one way or another he'll build a winner...and that's all that matters.

Excellent write up by Pat Forde

Meyer's credibility takes another hit - College Football - Rivals.com

Two Florida sources told me they expected him to stay out of coaching for a long time – “three or four years” one said – in a sincere effort to regain some balance in his life. And as the mess that cost Jim Tressel his job got worse last spring and speculation about Meyer intensified, one of his daughters sent out a strident Tweet saying, “HE IS NOT repeat NOT, GOING TO OHIO STATE.”

Now he draws his daughter in to his lies, awesome.

Watching his top-ranked, undefeated team get crushed by Alabama in the 2009 SEC title game made him sick. Losing five games the next year and enduring the first disappointing season of his career made him sick. Looking at recruiting classes that didn’t stack up on the field the way they stacked up on paper, especially five-star quarterbacks and receivers, made him sick.

One of the worst game day coaching jobs you will ever see in college.
