Trois-Rivières
Hello there,
I live in Trois-Rivières, Québec, Canada and am a student to become a telecommunications technician. One of the homeworks we've been assigned is to find (if possible) some specs for some LNA's and LNB's, those specs being the typical gain and noise (noise figure, noise ratio or temperature). I thought of submitting the models here and if you know some of the informations I need, you could just reply with one or more infos...

I'm just trying to impress my teacher here since I think i'm the only one who's crazy enough in my class to actually post a message in a forum to complete my work! :)

So here is the list of amplifiers:
1. INCOSPEC U7 (LNB, C Band)
2. GENERAL INSTRUMENTS LNB-132C (LNB, Ku Band)
3. GENSAT BDC-1200 (Ku? Band, this is only the block downconverter)
4. GENERAL INSTRUMENTS MC2016-2-1 (LNA, C Band)
5. DX DSB-60(M) (C Band, block downconverter)
6. SPACE VISION 6660 (LNB, C Band)
7. DISH BS1H1UP201M (LNBF, Ku Band)
8. GENERAL INSTRUMENTS LNB-125C (LNB, Ku? Band)

Thanks if you can help me and if nobody can, well my teacher won't blame me for trying! ;)

THese stuffs are so old and at least two of the companies has been out of business for long time. I uses have some GI products sheet but don't know still can find it or not since moved from last fall. But I believed it went to the dumster at old house.

For a stand alone BDC I'd guess a noise figure of around 15 db. Lots of your other items came in various noise figure models. I wouldn't be surprised if many of them as old as they are had noise temperatures in 65 to 100 degree area and gains in the 50 to 60 db range.
