811 owners - P285 Release

Have you had persistant sound drop outs? I have. Sometimes 5 times a day and then days without it happening.

I called E* Sunday about it and was told it is a software issue, happens on all 811's and the coming s/w release will address that problem. Funny, but I was told that back in October. Anyone have info on what the P285 will really address?

Might as well rename the 811 to Dish Windows. You need to reboot it at least once a week to keep it functional.

You need to go over to this site. There are many discussions regarding the 811 and the various sw releases, including ver 2.85.

Sheesh, you scared me. I thought you said there are now sound dropouts on the 285 release

Well, the sound dropouts could be due to the Dolby Digital issue with the 811 receiver. If you have your sound from the 811 going through an A/V receiver then you my experience some issue with it... this is what I understand from reading the posts on the DBS forum.
