I live in rural Iowa close to a county line that divides between to DMAs(Des Moines and Cedar Rapids). I can view my Cedar Rapids locals by entering the the four digit numbers(example 9155 ABC). But cannot enter 9 for ABC. I have installed other 522s that were not close to county line and was able to see and enter 9 ABC from the guide. Is this a common trouble with spot beam so close to 2 different DMAs?

It may be that those single digit channel numbers are duplicated in both DMAs. And some people may be receiving channels from both DMAs under the new "Significantly Viewed" rules. Therefore, to ensure you select the station you want, Dish may use its discrete channel numbers instead of the locally, OTA channel numbers.

The channel numbers are not duplicated and as I said this has worked in other locations that are not close to the DMA divide. I work for a telephone company that installs DISH and we installed in 1 other location that was close to the DMA divide and had the same issue.
DISH indicated that because of my location that is why I cannot get the 2,7,9etc locals on my guide. I wanted to know if the rep from DISH was all wet or if anyone has had or been told the same story.
