But several leaked reports claim that the company will announce plans to use the satellite to broadcast the first 3D HD channel in the U.S. as early as this March. Whether the rumors turn out to be true — and whether DirecTV can deliver on the promise — remains to be seen."

And yeah, they can deliver on the promise, that's not hard.

It's just a matter of how many people will care, which is very few for probably the next several years if ever.

I saw today that ESPN 3D is launching this summer with 85 3D sports events this year starting with a World Cup match.
