2023-2024 NCAA Football Thread

Rivalry week has finally arrived. All ready with my Georgia-Georgia Tech tickets.

Already had a few people ask if I had extras and told them they were low on the pecking order. :D
Did someone say Rivalry Week ???

How about Rivalry week with #2 vs #3.
Ohio State and TTUN (thats Xichigan for those of you not in this region). :)

For the 3rd year in a row Michigan has beaten Ohio State.

They now will join Texas and Alabama on the couch rooting for other teams to lose. :D
Many teams each year hope for others to lose to shake things up, Buckeyes haven't been in that spot lately.

Bama should have 3 losses now, but they have Mr. Luck on thier side ... what the hell, ND isn't using it. :)

Depends on Florida State right now.

FSU beat Florida, so they’ll go up to #4.

With the close loss, Ohio State will likely only drop to #5, though it could easily be #6 with Oregon winning big last night. If Oregon beats Washington next week (avenging their only loss), they'll jump to number 3 or 4. So the Pac`2 games is pretty much a play-in game.

Things would get interesting if Georgia, Michigan, or Florida State lose next week.

Unless there's a stunning upset or two, it looks like the semi-finals will be:

  • Sugar Bowl - Georgia v FSU
  • Rose Bowl - Michigan v Washington/Oregon (if Oregon wins, the committee will use it's usual pairing shenanigans to make a Big Ten/Pac12 pairing in the Rose Bowl for the Pac12's final year)

yes, Iowa... though stranger things have happened
I know, they should be hyped up with Harbaugh’s return.

With Washington vs Oregon next week, Ohio State could move back into #4 if Washington losses, then play ( and lose to) Georgia.

If Washington loses, then Oregon will leap over Ohio State (if they don't this week) to take Washington's spot. Pac 12 winner is almost guaranteed to be in.

Ohio State needs FSU and probably Texas to lose, as Texas could also leap them next week if they win the Big 12 championship.

A Georgia loss would actually hurt them, as it would make Alabama (beating Georgia) and Texas (beat Alabama) look better. For that reason, Texas is pulling for Alabama.

AP & Coaches polls are out. Top 4 consists of the 4 undefeated Power5 teams. Ohio State slipped below Oregon in both polls to #6, followed by Texas & Alabama.
