2016 NCAA football discussion thread

Well a sh*t ND team is spanking my VT team... getting rather sicking to watch them turn the ball over yet again.. all 3 losses were where all our turn overs came from and its happening again. Tired of pulling for them in a game they don't try themselves.
Oh, don't you worry, the Irish will find a way to shoot themselves in the foot. There is still another half to go.

And by challenging (and losing) the spot on that last pass, ND has no more challenges for the rest of the game.

See, what did I say? Nothing to fear... (unless you're Brian Kelly)

Snow, rain and wind made football interesting in a number of stadiums today.

I love the snow pouring down in a football game - been to a few in Blacksburg like that. I could do without the rain and wind though.
Watching them games on TV where its snowing 1-3 inches an hour is pretty funny to watch for sure. Hope to see more like it.

The rain and snow is one thing, but I think wind effects a game more than anything (cold would be another, when its cold)

Should see some shake up in the playoff picture soon.. I predict Michigan winning big saturday and in two weeks Clemson goes down :p
As much as I hate to see a ACC team not get in to the playoff - yeah I'm pulling and feel that VT has the defense to hold Clemson better than a Pitt team that VT beat. Their 8-3 record is certainly not reflecting the quality of team they are but those 3 losses and well this past weekends showing shows weakness for sure.

Meh, Tennessee beat them. A vols team that I had high expectations for and certainly did not live up to them I might add.

I agree with Michigan winning (the loss probably woke them up). As for Clempson, no, they'll be winning. Their screens work much better than Tech's option, and we saw what Tech did to VPI's defense. ;)

Though the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if the Cocks surprised Clempson :D

Shake up in the Playoff teams, quite possible.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the Michigan/Ohio State/ Penn State scenario.

The thinking I've been hearing all week is if OSU beats Michigan, they are in, regardless of what Penn State does.
I can see that seeing the schedule they have played includes wins over (if the beat TTUN) number 3, 8, 10 and 14 when they played.
Those teams are now #3 TTUN, #6 Wisconsin, #8 Oklahoma, and # 16 Nebraska.
Only loss is to # 6 Penn State by 3 points. Ironically it was a FG that beat them last year against Michigan State that ruined thier push to the Playoffs.

Michigan wins and wins the BT Championship, they will be in, OSU will officially be OUT.
If OSU wins that game, then it looks like it will be Penn State vs Wisconsin for the BT Championship, which I think Wisconsin will win, and could be the second team in ...
MAYBE, maybe not.

Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin are better than Penn State.
Everything went PSU way in thier game against OSU.

Fwiw, I see Clemson winning out and making the Playoffs as well.
Bama is an obvious #1, no one till now has really shown they can stop them.

It will be interesting to see if they put Wisconsin in or Washington in.
Washington's SOS seems to be quite low which is whats hurting them.

Fwiw, I haven't heard much from the sec folks here this year ...
All the boasting about how great the sec is and all that stuff that usually happens this time of year.

The BT is having and UP year and the sec an average to down year ?
Well see if they BT teams can keep up the upward trend or if its just an aberration.

OSU and TTUN will be there, but its the others that raise the league as a whole.

Without a doubt the sec is having a down year by their standards.

When the bowls are played we should be able to tell if the in conference competition is up, or if some other conferences are over bloated with truly bad teams.

I'd say right now the Big 10 is looking really good.

Big Ten is looking really good. SEC (with the exception of Alabama) is looking bad against everyone. They've been losing OOC games left and right.

Clempson is in a weird place. 4th place (with Alabama at #1) is great for them, as they're only 70 miles from Atlanta and the Peach Bowl.
2nd & 3rd place would put them in Phoenix, where it sucks for the fans to travel too.
Problem is, either Ohio St. or Michigan is going to lose, which would move Clempson up a spot.

My only hope is VT wins out - upsets clemson. VT's defense I believe can do that and the offense can keep up. Our QB has some of the best stats of any QB almost neck and neck with even Alabamas QB.

I see Herman is leaving Houston for LSU.

I'll be pulling for VT and Michigan come noon saturday!
