So those 5 fumbles you keep refering to, they were the result of poor play yes, but how about giving the team that caused them some credit.
Sadly too many fans can't appreciate defense. It's "boring" to them.

Granted not all turnovers are caused by the defense. Sometimes crap happens.

Bama is the defending national champ and even with slow game starts are winning convincingly. They are number 1 until they get knocked off. Simple as that, and no "poll in the pocket" talk really matters. Well, it matters as much as the polls in this format, which is not at all.

If those teams win out it won't matter which one is 1-4.

Sorry Jimbo.... OSU beat a unranked bad team in Rutgers when Clemson beat the #3 team in the country. I mean only makes sense to me to move them up to #1 but we all know how the SEC has the polls in their pockets don't we.

Why was Louisville #3? Oh yeah, they beat FSU. And how have they been doing?
Seminoles never should have been ranked highly in the first place.

Ohio St is ranked above Clempson because of the scares the Tigers have had. Has anyone even been close to the Buckeyes?

They have scored 45 or more in each game, they gave up thier most points to Oklahoma, 24.
I believe they have not given up a rushing TD yet this year.

I see what your saying but the polls are what they are this early. Prob shouldn't have any numbers on anyone till around week5-6 but they do that for ratings.
Ohio st hasn't played anyone but Oklahoma and they should have never been ranked as high as they were either. Clemson (not sure why you keep adding a P) beat a #3 team a much MUCH better one than Oklahoma at #14 at the time..and completely demolished a high ranked #5 in FSU at the time.

I figure OSU will be tested against a better defense in a few weeks on the road to see just how well they stack up. Clemson won't face a another top defense till maybe the ACC title game although Boston College by the numbers has a top defense still.

I see everyone in the top 5 losing 1 game except Michigan and Washington which yep sounds very odd.

Wow, the tar heels win on a "walk off" field goal.

Serious problems in Tally. Fans are pissed after 3 years of come from behind play almost every game. We are now 6-6 against in our last 12 games. The defense has a ton of talent and are playing lazy, many of them have been caught loafing plays via fans posting video. Jimbo continues to have head in the sand press conferences, and local media gives him softballs to hit instead of asking hard questions. Now, this Saturday in player interviews, the offense and defensive players took shots at the team with sideways comments.

A few NFL noles have spoken up about the D Coord., and several older players have noted the same dissension was what brought Bobby down. Basically, the players have lost faith in the defensive coaching they are getting, and the calls that are being sent in. And our fans see ND's DC get fired, Strong just demoted his DC, if Jimbo keeps burrowing into his hole of support it aint gonna go well...

We rank about 100 in many D categories, and if people think that is going to fly with the talent they have recruited, they are crazy. I am not sure if they can cure the toxicity, but the way the team is right now, losses to Miami and Clemson are likely, and then you never know about the UF game either. 5 loss season would mean someones house gets burned down probably with the crazy talk come out of these fans.

What didn't help, is the staff talked up all the talent during spring and summer, and when the local media went along with it, Jimbo and co' never tempered expectations. Was a really odd summer, and I am not sure if divorce and his son's illness aren't taking their toll. If they lose the Miami, which is likely, its going to be bad in Tally. I was at the UNC game, and sure the ending was "fun", but the stuff you hear out of fans in the stands is pretty much the same, and they even boo'd the team...

If you have almost 600 yards of offense with no turnovers, and you lose, not sure who you blame other than the D... I mean the O got down there and got the lead with little time left, and the D just let em move the ball again. I want Kelly gone, yesterday.

Im not really sure why anyone argues about rankings in win/loss discussions the first two months of football. Its idiotic.

A ranking that FSU should never have had. They've been exposed as a pretender, which in turns damages Louisville's "quality" win.

Clempson has had close calls (Auburn and Troy), and Ohio St. has not. That is why Ohio St. is ranked higher.

As for the "p" in Clempson, if you've ever been to South Carolina, you'd know that's how they actually pronounce it, so all the old school ACC teams spell it that way to make fun of them.

They have The U at #10 and they absolutely do NOT deserve it....and that is who I root for. I would barely rank them in the top 25. They have beaten no one really. I hope the coaching staff drills into their heads that they have done NOTHING yet.

It has been fun being a TN fan this year for sure. Lucky? Yes. But I'll take lucky over unlucky. :)

Sadly I think it is time for us to come back to Earth. With @A&M and Bama in Knoxville the next two weeks I'd be surprised if we are anything other than 5-2 after those games. Should still make it to Atlanta for the SEC Championship even with those two losses (likely playing one of those two teams again). After where we have been the past 10 years, you can bet I'll take that. I don't remember being so low and so high in a span of 15 seconds of game time ever.

After 2 losses in a row, guess I won't have to see as many "Tenn Sux" memes on facebook next year.
Told a few that posted them, all they were doing was giving UT fans an excuse to remind them of who won last year by all my UGA friends.

Meanwhile my new favorite reminder to them is, "Mark Richt is now 4-0" :D

Love it. Wait till next year when he starts bring in HIS recruits from the richest area of recruits in the country, south Florida.

Great recruiter but never could do it as a coach. His teams are soft, hell he couldn't even beat Florida when they sucked, and he always had good recruiting. I think he will be better than Golden for sure, but he aint the answer to bring the U back.
