2014 MLB Hall of Fame elections

I agree with all three that made it. All very deserving. It's a shame Morris didn't make it. He was as clutch a pitcher as I have seen. Some of his numbers aren't great but that doesn't tell his entire story. There was no one else in the 80's I would have wanted to pitch a big game than Jack Morris.
It's a shame for Biggio too. Just two votes short. It will be hard for him to get in next year too. Randy Johnson,Pedro Martinez and John Smoltz all figure to make it in their first year of elgibility.

I'm a little surprised Piazza didnt get in. Maybe its the Mets fan in me but I thought he'd get in. I agree with the 3 who got in although Glavine is going to be a little hard to take and the Mets fans here on this board know what I'm talking about.

Incredible stat seen on Twitter that shows Greg Maddux's ability to command the strike zone: Out of 20,421 batters faced, only 133 3-0 counts. Just 0.0065%

I did not know Type Cobb. Only read about his douche-ness. I saw Thomas' true side on how treated clubhouse attendants, his ex-wife and so on.

Am pretty sure that he's "nicer" now as he no longer has a franchise, army of employes nor a city kissing his arse. When things go to someone's head is when their true colors come out.

He wont be doing that again...As far as am concerned, he deserves what he got despite his explanation.

I would agree with you if he didn't turn in a reasonable ballot. Here's who was on the Deadspin ballot: Greg Maddux, Frank Thomas, Tom Glavine, Mike Piazza, Craig Biggio, Edgar Martinez, Jeff Bagwell, Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds and Curt Schilling.

If his ballot instead was a mockery and contained names like these (all of whom did receive votes from current BBWAA members BTW), I might agree: Jacque Jones, J.T. Snow, Eric Gagne, Kenny Rogers, Armando Benitez

NFL considering abolishing extra points?
