Big series between Detroit and Cleveland starting tonight. I sure hope the Tigers give Sanchez some run support...and Miggy is in the lineup.

Sanchez is pitching a good game, but the Tigers needs to get some runs. 2-0 Indians after six complete innings.

Miggy still can't run the bases it looks like, its a shame we have so many starters injured or out for other reasons, it should still be a good series I think.
Sanchez must be the Jack Sprat of the Tiger pitching rotation. Feed that man some run support!!!

Yea Us!!! I've always thought the best indicator of how good a team is playing is their ability to win the tight games in the late innings. With the exception of my cringing while watching Miggy labor on and off the field, it was a great game. I hate to say these words but Leyland should send Miggy to a spa for the next 5-10 and bring him back at 100%.
I somewhat agree with the Miggy deal, was thinking that the other day when he had missed 3-4 games, they could,have put him on the 15 day and only lost him for maybe 10 days, but seeing he actually played last night (PH) and played today, that idea is out.
I heard tonight that Infante will be in Toledo for a few days, starting tomorrow, DH the first game, playing 2b after that.
Tigers play Yankees after the Indians, maybe they can have him skip that series.
hopefully Infante is back by then, if not, put Iglasisis at 3b, Santiago at SS and Perez at 2b, this would be very solid in the infield, even fmore so if Infante is back at 2b.
Or Iglasisis at SS with Kelly at 3b and Infante/Perez at 2b
Miggy needs to sit for a few more games, but being added to the DL is moot at this stage. I don't recall the last time I've seen anyone wind up with a single after hitting a ball that rolled all-the-way to the wall in the right field corner. Frank Howard perhaps? Anyway, the Tigers may as well continue to bench him since they are finding ways to win without him at present.

- Good matchup tonight with Verlander going against Masterson - should be an enjoyable game.
- Man, I cannot believe how much our defense has improved over the past year...still shudder when I envision Delmon Young plodding after fly balls in LF.
- Jhonny Peralta is eligible to return with 3-games remaining in the season. Will the Tigers qualify him for the playoffs? Toledo stops playing in early Sept...and he certainly won't be ready to return.
- Sanchez had another solid pitching performance last night against a hot team, but still no win. He's the Anti-Max Scherzer who is getting something like 8-runs per game from the team.
On J.V. if theJ.V. We saw last time out, Yes.
On Defense, still thinking, Miggy when healthy is better defender than anyone gives him credit for, now with Iglasas at SS, he ll get even less.
On Peralta, I m not sure what they will do, the players really like him, so that may help his case, but if Igasis is playing what looks like so far, Great D, and does ANY hitting, I think he should play.
Sanchez has the ability to be very good on the back end of a very good staff, I dont think hes a 1; but canhandle the 2,3 spot nicely.
I like how Leyland changed the starting rotation a few weeks ago so the opposition wasn't facing similar type pitching 2 or 3 nights in a row.
Tigers blew a golden opportunity being help scoreless after loading the bases with no outs in the 2nd.
I thought he should have done that long ago ...
