2013 AL Central

Many people on talk radio were wondering if yesterday's game puts the Indians in a bad spot, still early but wow would it be nice to get another one tonight

It obviously wouldn't be over but I would say winning 3 or all 4 games in this series would definitely put the Indians in a bad spot. A split leaves it pretty close.

My thoughts on the game:

  • Verlander pitched a Verlanderesque game Justin time; he looked very good tonight
  • Scary, scary moment when Victor was hit by a pitch...he reacted as though it fractured a bone
  • Don Kelly is the master of Masterson; he owns this guy
  • Tigers own Masterson for that matter - this pitcher gives up four runs in his last four outings only to get knocked-around again by the Tigers
  • Damn that was funny watching Miggy slide into 2nd...and not having enough momentum to actually slide

He's still playing.

Just wondered, I've been on the phone alot getting things done tonight, had the game on in the background, seen that Victor had gotten hit by a pitch or something close to that and went down in pain... hadn't heard anything since .... must be ok ?

So, thats 2 strong outings in a row for Verlander, I said earlier, we needed to see 3 strong in a row to feel that he has got the old rythem back, he's getting close.

I thought Victor had reinjured his leg as well, they just said on TV that he appears to be ok.

I think Cabrera is hurt much worse than anyone is saying.

For the 2 straight very good games the Tigers just played, it will be all for nothing if they don't win at least 1 of the next 2.

Two numbers we didn't know if we'd ever see,
Alex Avila has finally got his avg. to .200, he was around .160 most of the year.
V. Martinez has his avg. all the way up to .275 .... Martinez was at .220 not that long ago and people were wondering if he could still hit.

He can be picked-up on waivers but not eligible for the playoffs, right? Regardless, I wish him well and hope that he finds his lost mojo (and I'm not talking about Memories of Mojo). ;)

He CAN be eligible for the playoff by anyone who picks him up as long as he's on the roster before Sept 1, if I'm not mistaken.

The bottom of the 14th got a little scary but I'll take any type of win in extra innings.
