2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Latest on Nathan Horton: He was asked at Mass General Hospital where he was, and he replied "Vancouver".

We have a series now.

While I did think Boston was gonna win tonight (they are too good a team to be swept), I didn't think they were gonna play name the score (these Bruins are better on the offensive side than last year, but if you told me they were gonna ring up 8 goals in a game, I wouldn't have bet a gallon of ice cream on it).

Either way, this marks another year the SCF will not be a sweep.

The Red Wings were the last team to do so in '98- thirteen years going on fourteen of sweepless Stanley Cup Finals... and that's a good thing.

The league better get this one right!

No doubt that was a dirty hit on Horton. However, the league needs to take some blame here too. First off, they have lost control of the game in the name of "let the players decide the game rather than the officials". Secondly, the Burrows bite should have been disciplined and now this series is out of control. What other sport allows a player to face wash another player. Imagine, the NFL and a defensive lineman sticks his hand inside Peyton Manning's helmet and gives him a face wash; what would be the reaction by his teammates.

So now what will happen today. Rome will get a game or two? After all it was only an "interference call". While one of Boston's leading scorers is done for year. There is four officials on the ice and they basically can't find the whistles. The best player in the NHL might never play again because of cheap shots (Crosby) and the NHL sits on the their hands. If the NHL really wants stop the B.S., its time for multi game suspensions and large fines. Hit the cheap shot artist in the wallet, where it really hurts and the players will think twice.

I have no love for the Boston Bruins; however I love hockey, and the continuing allowance of cheap shots is ruining the game.

Cheap shots and the finger pointing aside, that was the style of hockey I enjoy watching here in Boston. Like you said, 4 on ice refs and they all miss the chop to Krejci that lead to the lone Canucks goal! Lets hope these few incidents have lit a fire. With Thornton back in the lineup, the B's need to keep playing exactly the way they did last night. Banging bodies and grinding.
Islandguy, my wife's from Buffalo and *was a Sabres fan. After almost 15yrs of marriage, I think I've transformed into a Bruins fan :D

Just remember, Buffalo owns your team (Jeremy Jacobs)! I wonder if your wife is real Buffaloian, afterall I have been with a Canadian for 7 years and have no desire at all to join her as a Leaf's Fan.:D

Please don't mention the name Jacobs to us Boston fans :D 17yrs in Buffalo. She does root for the Sabres everytime they face the Bruins. I need to work on that.

From the Bruins website. "Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that forward Nathan Horton will miss the remainder of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs due to a severe concussion."
All I need to hear now is Rome is gone for the yr as well.

You've got your wish...

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome has been suspended for four games by the league for his blindside hit of Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton in Monday's Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals.
