2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Well, we're headed to Boston and the Bruins will have to hold home ice in games 3 and 4. "Things" won't be so friendly at the Garden.

I agree,
In hockey, teams get pumped up winning the first 2 games and the fans go crazy and the losing teams fans go crazy in the other direction, however, in Hockey, it's VERY COMMON to have the HOME teams win the first 4 games, after that it's anybodys game.

That is just cruel! LOL. But, if statistics mean anything.

Teams that win the first two games of the final have a 42-4 record for going on to win the Stanley Cup.

They don't need to go dark, they can have plenty of other things happening, just not on playoff dates.

That's totally unrealistic. After reading your post in the Ohio State thread regarding players selling memorabilia "so they could LIVE week to week", I'm starting to see a trend...

You want to stifle the local economy just in case the local team makes it that far?? When was the last time Vancouver was in the Finals??

After all, it was one night. We're not talking about something like a 2-week tennis tournament or something like that...

When the Wings make the playoffs, do you think they give up the building in May and June to a concert that could be moved to a NON Hockey night ?
It's VERY obvious what nights are potential hockey nights, the schedule is made out well in advance.
Not often will they change the schedule once it's made.

Back to the original discussion for a moment. Who owns Rogers Arena?? Canucks Sports & Entertainment, that's who. Imagine, even they saw the business opportunity and took advantage of it. :eureka:

As for the Red Wings, it looks like the concert schedule at Joe Louis is pretty sparse compared to Vancouver and Boston. Don't know if that's due to the venue, the local economy, or a combination of factors...

I think it's just the opposite.
Those in Vancouver had NO CONFIDENCE that they were going to make it that far so they went ahead and scheduled it.

Yeah, OK, and in the meantime Vancouver's ecomony is thriving and their hockey team is up 2-0 in the Finals. Nice job keeping Joe Louis available, Detroit!!!

I can't believe you're making a big deal out of a one day delay. At least theirs is for a reason, unlike the NBA which seems to like scheduling what feels like one game a week. ;)

Huge game tonight!!!

Either the Bruins win and get back into this series or lose and it's all but over. They played two very good games in Vancouver and could just as easily be the ones up 2-0 in this series. Good things will happen if they continue to attack the net and take good shot, but if Luongo gets hot it could be another frustrating night. I am predicting Boston wins the game 4-3 in a fun one!

A message needs to be sent early to Maxine LaPierre and Alex Burrows and it needs to sting. No more of their BS they were aloud to get away with in Vancouver.

At stake in this series: Boston would be the first city this century to win titles in all four major sports if the Bruins can win the cup!! :)
Not only that, but it would be the first time EVER that a city has won a championship in all four sports within a 10 year period.

I agree, they got a little too smug in Game 2 for my liking!

Vancouver at Boston- 8:00pm ET (Versus)- Canucks lead series 2-0

Did anybody see Saturday Night's HNIC introduction of the Cancuck Starting Lineup?

One of twins (Sedins - who can tell them apart) introduced himself and his brother...and their linemate "The Vegetarian" Alex Burrows.:D

Seriously, if the Chara had any balls.....why didn't he take a run at Burrows??

GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!

I no longer care about the outcome of this series. I just want to see some Canucks blood on the Garden ice!!! Dirty pieces of sheet!!!:mad::mad:
