2011 MLB Playoffs

You missed a great ending (or from a Tigers fan POV a crappy ending) to a ballgame. Tomorrow should be a good matchup with Wilson and Verlander. :)

I watched it.

Tomorrows will not be very good, because theres a 60% chance of rain.
Of course, if Verlander is scheduled to pitch, it's gotta have torrential rain.

Thursday- American League Championship Series- Game 5

Verlander game will start about 8:30 .... rain will wash it out once again to prolong the misery.

Obviously, back is up against the wall for Tigers. I would feel a confident with Verlander on the mound at home. It would give the Tigers a little bit of breathing room for now. Tigers lose a very tough game tonight.

If it rains again tomorrow with Verlander scheduled to pitch, I would start calling it the Curse of the V. :)

If the Bats would start doing ANYTHING consistently ....

Pitching wise, I'm fine with the Starters the Tigers have going yet, Verlander, Scherzer and Fister ..... the bullpen however is used up.

Two of the four games went into extra innings and we on the short end both times - that's the difference in this series. Plus, the weather and injuries haven't helped matters...we've just had a lot of bad breaks and bad luck this series. It was difficult enough having to beat a very good Texas Rangers team in the ALCS, but it's no small task when we're down 3 games to 1. Well, I'm hoping Al Kaline has a little "comeback magic" leftover from the 1968 season when the Tigers came back from being down 3-1 in the series to win the WS against St. Louis.

This will be our finest moment. :)

Hate to say this but this series is going to the rangers, after the grand slam walk off sealed it for me. Rangers are getting the hits and are healthy. Watching Avila and young battle is tuff.

When cabrera did not score on the pop out that sealed the game for me

It should still be a good Game 5. Verlander is a good pitcher that I'm sure the Rangers will have difficulty with today.

Fear not Tiger fans. Lesser teams have come back from a 3-1 deficit before.

And we'll do it in the rain and mud while running to first base with a cast and walking stick. :D To be honest, it's a long-shot but I'm a believer.

Speaking of rain and mud...what's the weather like in the area (i.e., any rain so far this morning)? The forecast calls for a 30% chance of rain in the PM and a 60% chance of showers tonight

I don't know about Detroit, but here in Cleveland (170 miles East), they're calling for a high of 60°F and rain all weekend.

Probably need to hear from Paul, SatJay, DetFan or someone local. I guess I could always call family or, heck, just call The DishStore and ask 'em to look outside.

Overcast day right now in the Detroit area, may get some rain later, but from what our local weatherman say (and you know how they are) looks like light rain/sprinkle so dont think rain will play a role but since JV is pitching prob will :)

More rain for the weekend

Just as long as they get this one in the Rangers will be headed south with or without the Tigers following. Okay, worst case scenario...what happens if they don't get the game in tonight? Because of the forecast it's safe to say they won't get the game in on Friday or possibly even Saturday. Do they travel back down to Texas to complete Game 5?

Why would Jim Leyland announce he's not using Valverde or Benoit? That just gives the Rangers the heads up that they won't be seeing either pitcher tonight.

I'm not sure but it shouldn't come as any surprise that Benoit and Valverde would need an off-night this evening. I get the feeling Verlander will be getting 9-innings of work this evening. We shall see.

Happy Halloween Everyone!
