2011 AL Central Thread

I noticed Detroit-Boston games is delayed in the top of the 8th inning in a scoreless affair. I sure hope we don't waste a solid pitching performance.

It's wasted, Tigers lose 1-0.
WAS too many wasted opportunities to score, Martinez doubled in the ninth, Dirks came in to run, got moved to third and Rayburn struck out to end the game.

They also had the bases loaded with less than 2 outs earlier and couldn't score.

Tigers and Red Sox played in a Fog Bowl all night with rain and fog.

Fwi, Indians lose 1-0 also.

This love affair with raburn and Inge has to end. I'm so sick of these two guys. Time to come up off of one those pitching prospects and get some offense instead of these guys. We have verlander, porcello and scherzer for a long time. We don't need all 3 of those guys that are down on the farm. Use one in a deal. Except for turner. He's my untouchable. It's time dombrowski to use one to get something he can't ever draft. A bat.

OK, HD, on Sunday we fly to Paris and San Tropez for two weeks. When I get back, the azaleas should be in full bloom. If the Injuns are still rollling along at that point, you can cound me in as a believer!

Theres been talk of doing that, although no legit names have been mentioned.
This morning I read the names of Ethier or Kemp, they also said it would take quite abit to get either of them, particularly Ethier...

I have heard no other names yet, that said, I agree need to definitely move RABURN, I've been calling for that for several years now.

If Inge goes, you need to find someone that can play 3rd, unless they move Peralta over there, does he like 3B ?
And then go out and get a bonifide SS.

Boesch and Cabrera just went back to back to tie it up at 3.

About time the Tiger bats wake up ... been snoozing way to long ....

Now that Beckett has left ....

Not sure what we would need Ethier. Doesn't he play first? So far kemp to me has been nothing but hype. Lots of talent but I don't think he's a good fit. Now this is a pipe dream but go get Bautista. :)

I'd also like to know where Carlos is in his rehab and if he is going to stay healthy once he's back. His bat certainly won't hurt us.

Ethier plays the outfield and is currently hitting .321 with a .293 career avg.
I would like to see him in Detroit, but agree, it would take a lot to get him, and LA would be asking more than what he's worth because the Tigers need a bat.

I'm tired of Carlos, Yes his bat would be a help, IF he would finally hit.
Last time he was here playing, he wasn't hitting.

He's always saying, he's "Close", but the time never comes.

I doubt Toronto would part with him while he's being productive.
Also, the last thing the Tigers need is another .250 hitter, thats his Career avg.
He also avg's 17 HR and 50 rbi's for his career.

For those that are having baseball withdrawls...
