Just wait until Chad gets on the same page with TFB, wow!:popcorn The TE's are beasts.

Even though they gave up all the yards they did, I was really encouraged by the defense. Ras-I Dowling looked good. it looks like defenses around the league have not yet caught up to the offenses.

I can not believe that it was the Dolphins who were affected by the weather, cramping and worn out all over the place. I was shocked.

HEY REY, turn on your PM
done..............

Dear Mr. Rey,

You and Miami owe Chad Henne an apology. From what I saw last night, Chad Henne made all sorts of great throws to his receivers. Sure there was that one down by the goal line that should've been converted for a TD, but Brandon Marshall didn't run a correct route. From what I saw, Chad had the arm strength to make every throw that a QB has to make and last night he did on multiple occasions. I don't get the deflected criticism and blame that has been directed to your QB. Henne is a very capable QB in this league and you should support him. From what I saw, your defense and/or coaches are to be blamed. They weren't conditioned to keep up with New England. Your offense is far from being the problem. BTW, I think your team will be more competitive this year that you think. I like what I saw from Reggie Bush too!

Signed,

The Good, the Bad and the UGLY of last night's 23-20 Raiders win.

The Good:

Darren McFadden, like I stated last night, IF he can stay healthy, he will run for 1500+. A big back that has breakaway speed with the power to punish is a scary combination. The Defensive Front Line the Raiders have that is 7 to 8 deep is as good as any in the NFL right now. Lammar Houston, Richard Seymour, Tommy Kelly and Matt Shaughnessy with Jarvis Moss, Desmond Bryant, John Henderson and Trevor Scott coming in is just scary and almost illegal. Last night's 6 sacks were no fluke.
Honorable mention: I saw some EXCELLENT man-to-man coverage by the CBs and and excellent pass support by our safeties. As these guys play together more, the combo of Chris Johnson and Stanford Routt are gonna be very good. DHB, played a very solid game at WR. He caught some big 3rd down and long catches and is game has improved a ton since coming in. The Offensive line with one rookie in Wisnieski and 2nd year man in Veldheer did a decent job in pass protect and a very good job in run blocking. Nice to see and entire OL healthy.

The Bad:

With that great defensive front line, the Raiders have very good RUN coverage LBs that can blitz with just about any team. BUT, if you ask them to drop in coverage of a TE or RB, holy crap we're in trouble...and make no sense because they are fast, but AWFUL in pass coverage. Lat night and throughout the preseason, that was very evident.

The "F"UGLY:

Those f***ing penalties killed the Raiders from killing Denver last night! HueJax has stated he "want to build a bully"...but it has to be a DISCIPLINED one because last night I was ready to kill somebody. Jason Campbell had some ulgy numbers, but in reality, he really didn't have to much, as well MOST of the WR core. Boy do we REALLY miss and need Boss back.

The Broncos are alot better than last year. The defense was pretty good but the OL is not and poor Orton will be running for his life. I like Orton and it's sort of unfair the way the Denver fans were calling for Tebow midway through the 3rd quarter, but that's their team and their problem.

On to Buffalo...

lol..... no doubt chad had his best game as a fin last night. but , i don't owe him any apology. if he's consistently good all season then i'll apologize right here. until then, chad has lots to prove since he hasn't played well at all until last night. look at his numbers. they're horrible. last night, they were great! if he plays like that all year then we may finally have a qb. having said all that, miami played way better than i expected. well miami's offense anyway. we had a top ten defense last year and so many said before last night that miami should be in the top 5 this year. they stunk last night. i was disgusted by their defense. here i was, not worried about the defense but worried about the offense and it was the other way around. i really have not been impressed by this mike nolan who i'm well aware who he is and his track record. but so far i haven't seen anything special out of the defense since he's been here.

i have no idea how miami is going to turn around their defensive issues. and i hope what i saw last night out of miami's offense isn't a fluke but an indication how it will be this season. we did go backwards in the running game by letting go of ronnie brown. bush isn't that type of RB. so we basically don't have a much of a running game anymore.

The Raiders may have committed all those penalties(so did the Broncos), but they forced 2 turnovers plus a TD ball that Orton dropped, got 5 sacks, and ran for nearly 200 yards. Jason Campbell didn't screw up.

Denver couldn't run, couldn't protect Orton, and played dumber football than Oakland.

This is a concise wrapup of that horrible game.

We gave it away, and the Faiders took it.

And Monday Night games that start at 8:15 suck! We didn't get home until 2AM.

Last night's win was the 112th regular season win for the Belichick/Brady combo. They now need five more wins to pass Shula/Marino as the winningest coach/QB tandem in NFL history.

Also, Brady goes into the season having won an NFL record 28 straight regular season games at home. His last loss was on Nov. 12, 2006 to the Jets, aka "The Mud Bowl" (that was the last game that Gillette Stadium had natural turf).

YEP! heard that yesterday. i sometimes forget all the records shula and marino broke during their time together.its no wonder we've been miserable since those two left the organization. enjoy your current coach and qb while you still can.

I don't know about the Broncos giving it away because if you take away all the turnovers and half of the penalties, Denver gets shutout 16-0. There was no way they were stop the run because the Denver D-line is undersized.

I heard Ron Jaworski say the S*** word but I bet many didn't . It was said so fast in the fourth quarter. I know he apologized for it later . The ESPN announcers are just awful!!. Not the swearing part. I'm taking about having three men in the booth. They won't shut up!!!

Browns agree to terms with Punter Brad Maynard to replace Flubber McGee who averaged less than 20yds a punt against the Bengals. So excited for this news!!!!!!!!

I heard that and had to rewind it to make sure. I didn't watch much after that so I missed the apology.

Don't I know it, Rey! :)

Brady is fast approaching the rarified air of Larry Bird on my personal list of all time athletes (something I NEVER thought I'd say about anyone )!

Belichick is, to say the least, a quirky dude! But he's definitely grown on me over the years. :D

All four head coaches/managers have won championships now (Belichick, Francona, Rivers, Julien), but if I had to choose which one I would sit down and have a beer with, it would be Doc Rivers...he just seems the most down to earth.

From ESPN this morning:

This season's week 1 was the first week in league history where both QBs in 5 games had 300+ yard passing days.

This is kinda amazing to me because many thought the offenses would be slower to start this year with the very limited off-season workouts...
