Mike Brown is the cheapest s.o.b. in the NFL.

Ramy - What do you think about this??

The Bengals say they won't trade Carson Palmer, who wants to leave one of the NFL's least-successful franchises.

Owner Mike Brown reiterated Tuesday that he won't satisfy the quarterback's request to be dealt, saying a trade would reward Palmer for failing to play out the rest of his contract.

Instead, they'll let him go ahead with his plan to retire rather than play for the Bengals.

Yes. Simply because if you look at what it will cost and the importance to the team, yes... he is.

A Tight End is more important than a shut down corner? Possibly the best CB in the league is of "more importance" than a mediocre tight end?! If Raider nation shares this opinion, it's no wonder why your franchise has been struggling!!

Yeah, I wouldn't take the team that thought Jay Cutler would lead them to the promise land over the guy that helped put together the Patriots dynasty (Scott Pioli) ;)

NFL announced today that the Chargers-Cowboys game that had been scheduled for Saturday, August 20 had been moved to Sunday, August 21 at 8 PM ET. The game will be broadcast nationally by NBC, which had been scheduled to show the Hall of Fame Game.

Cutler got the Bears to the NFC Championship in his first year. And he did it with a lack of offensive weapons to compliment him. I'd take him any day over Matt Cassell.

Why? Because he was a 1st round pick. Cutler might have a stronger arm, but in every other category of quarterbacking Matt Cassel has a clear advantage over Cutler.

The 'Boys have been active. Just released Marion Barber, Leonard Davis, Roy Williams and kicker Kris Brown. Rumor is they're cutting money to go HARD after Nnamdi!!!

Marion Barber To Be Released By Dallas Cowboys - SBNation.com

Supposedly, Asomugha loved playing for Rob Ryan in Oakland. Ryan is the new defensive coordinator in Dallas.

I think Dallas was about $14M over the cap before this process started. they'll have to cut/rework a lot of contracts...

Just not sold on Cassell. Not yet. Yes, he made a significant improvement from his first year with KC when he went 16TD/16INTs and a putrid 69.9% QB Rating. Let's see him have two solid seasons in a row before he's considered anything above mediocre at this point.

I say let him sit. If he didn't want to play then he shouldn't have signed the contract. He hasn't been that great. They did better when they let the running backs run and let him pass every now and then.

The running backs could run because Carson Palmer could make them pay for playing the run.

...same year Cutler went 27/26 and had a 76 rating?

LMAO! Mediocre TE?! He is easily one of the top 10 best TE in the AFC. I would say only Antonio Gates, Dallas Clark, Heath Miller, that Daniels guy from the Texans and Todd Heap are even. And I would say you can make an argument that only Gates, Clark and Heath are better. The tight end ALSO has help a ton on the run blocking of the Raiders...AND, he would be alot easier to sign $$$ than Nnamdi. Nnamdi WILL be paid somewhere in the $13-$15 MILLION dollar a year range, quite possibly making THE highest paid CB in the NFL and one of the top paid PLAYERS in he NFL....Zack will be closer to half of that.

But again, gonna ASSUME, you knew that....

EDIT: Just as an FYI, he is the highested rated TE and the 8th highest ranked sought after FA in the best market in years. Above names like DE/LB Mathias Kiwanuka, Giants WR Steve Smith, CB Ike Taylor, DE Charles Johnson and QB Matt Hasselbeck to name a few.

Just heard the Steelers have $116 million on the books. This is before trying to resign all of their free agents including L'amar Woodley. The cap is at $120 million. Doesn't leave much wiggle room for the Stools. Hehehe!!!

Whats gonna happen with these teams is, first, the team needs to get UNDER the CAP before they can sign ANYONE.
Then you'll see teams cutting players and potentially resigning them at a cheaper Cap rate.
