what about the brains??? marino had the ability to look across the field and find the open man in a second which really helped his quick release.quick decision making. only other qb i've seen in my life with a quick release like that is rodgers! marino read the defense easily and raised his performance under pressure. elway had a heck of an arm!!! could throw it from one end to another easily. both qb's extremely accurate.that comparison is huge

Consider the source.

There it is..................

I called it in the other thread....

What did you call ?
That he would take a job with the Colts ? :)

He's been visiting alot of NFL teams lately, had to guess something was gonna come up for him.

Someone on the radio today is wondering outloud that the NFL (Goodell) will suspend Tressel for 5 games to match the suspension Pryor got.

Can't believe they would do anything like that with a coach, seeing how many coaches leave town before the Sh*t hits the fan and have nothing to pay when they get to the NFL (Pete Carrol) comes to mind and others as well.

The last 5 teams to go 4-0 in the preseason have a combined record of 27-53. Since 2003, nine teams wrapped up the August schedule 4-0 and only four of them produced winning record in the fall.

4-0 this preseason, the Rams and Lions.

Lions seem to always win thier Pre Season games, and we all know how that goes.
Pre Season should NEVER be taken as a barometer for the actual season.

The Lions were 4-0 in the pre season the year they went 0-16 also.

That said, I see the Lions making .500 this year, hopefully more. :)

I agree. I actually think the Lions have a great chance of making the playoffs this year. They finished the preseason with no major injuries on any of their most important players and QB Matt Stafford is as healthy as he can be. So unless some kind of major injury happens to QB Stafford, WR Johnson or DT Suh, I think they're going to do just fine.

8-8 would be a HUGE Improvement, but I think one more win will put them in the playoffs 9-7, so anything is possible.

I think with the lack of access to facilities, trainers, OTA and special camps..there have been a huge rash of injuries all over the league. I think we are gonna get alot of ugly football the 1st 3 or 4 weeks of the season.

Perennial Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters and the Patriots reached an agreement that will give New England the help it has been seeking at right guard.

Waters worked out for the Patriots on Saturday and the two sides reached agreement Sunday morning, according to a source.

Any veteran on an opening-day roster has his salary guaranteed for the season.

The fact that New England did a deal now with Waters rather than waiting until after the regular season begins indicates they have big plans for him this season.

hmmm....interesting and to tell the truth, I was surprised this was not done earlier....

Oakland Raiders, Tyrrelle Pryor To Appeal Suspension:

by Raymond St. Martin (Saint) on Sep 4, 2011 10:29 AM PDT

According to multiple sources, including the USA Today, Oakland Raiders Quarterback Tyrrelle Pryor will appeal his 5 game suspension:

Breer tweeted late Sunday morning Pryor is filing this appeal, "in part, because of concerns voiced by veteran players on this matter." Florio indicated the concern is the NFL helping enforce NCAA regulations with its discipline. The league has said it isn't setting any precedent. But based on the letter ProFootballTalk.com acquired, it is Florio's opinion that, "it's obvious that the violation of NCAA regulations could affect future NFL players, especially as it relates to a player's ability to enter the NFL

You had better bet that having Jim Tressel join the Colts without as much as a peep coming from the League office had at least a little to do with this. So, my speculation last night was correct, the release of Trent Edwards did signify that Terrell Pryor would appeal his suspension, and you know what, this is the proper thing to do. In the real world, if you got suspended from school, your new employer doesn't hire you and not let you start for 5 weeks because of your actions in college. They either hire you or they don't.

You also have to think that deep inside Mr. Davis is taking this chance to expose the League for what they have become. Go get them Al!

Their nonsense was never on better display than when Roger Goodell suspended a retired player, Eric Barton, yesterday: (From Eric Barton's Twitter)

@ericbarton50: @AdamSchefter suspended me from what I retired a month ago. GODell is now suspending retired players? wow!" THIS!

Good luck Tyrrelle, now just don't appeal the Raider's decision to NOT allow you to wear #2 and we'll be alright!

Man, where is the football today???

I don't want to wait until next weekend!

Preseason might have not been real, but it got the taste in my mouth.

That is why MOST of my "honey-do" list has been completely done.... doing the last of it this afternoon!

I want NOTHING to do next week!:D

IF the NFL upholds the 5 games, you may as well consider the NFL and the NCAA to be Pro and the Minor league like in Baseball, you know how much the NFL DOESN'T want it to be looked at like that, but it should be if this goes thru and the 5 games are upheld.

They have plenty of cap room.

This is my reason for cutting Meriweather, HE SUCKS!:wave

Now he can get his VIP on swole in Chicago. Good Riddance, WORST PROBOWLER, EVER!!!!!
VERY overrated, I agree...........But, BMW AND Sanders?

Who is gonna start alongside Chung? I've been hearing Darren Sharper's named mentioned.

I'm the first to admit I had serious doubts about Haynesworth coming here, but after watching him the other night, and now this quote................I'm starting to feel pretty good!

But the Patriots' defensive system? Haynesworth was downright giddy about that.
"What we do here -- which is pretty good and unbelievable and will help you -- is we rotate a lot," he said. "We had a lot of depth at Tennessee. Here, we have great depth. We have guys that can go to any other team and start.
So like (defensive line coach Pepper Johnson) tells us, 'Go as hard as you can for however many plays, and if that's three or four plays, do that, come out and we'll send in somebody else and send another wave of attack in.' I'm going to play as hard as I possibly can, and when I get gassed, I'm going to come out."
Many have questioned if Haynesworth can adapt to coach Bill Belichick and the Patriot way, but he seems to have entirely bought into it, saying: "To me, this is a career-saving place for me to come. I had no idea it would be like this, but it's unbelievable, and I wish I kind of took two years ago and came here."

IMO it sound like he is putting down the Redskins.

Anyone know what the Colts draft pick status is for next year ?

Looks like Peyton may have more problems, Could the Colts be looking for a new # 1 in next years draft ?

A few draft picks to move up to the #1 or 2 spot ?

Andrew Luck, Kellen Moore ?

I think Kellen Moore will be a steal in the 2012 draft. People will try to hold his [lack of] size against him,& that may cause a lot of teams to pass on him. That's a shame. He's not as short as Doug Flutie,he's the same size as Michael Vick(listen to me talk,I'm only 5ft 9in. 6ft is tall to me).
