Jeff Fisher has ended a week of drama in St. Louis and Miami by deciding to cast his lot with the Rams as head coach.Fisher interviewed with Rams owner Stan Kroenke on Jan. 6 and toured Rams Park on Sunday. Interspersed were visits with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and tours of the facilities in Miami.Since then, reports have indicated that Fisher, who coached the Tennessee Titans for 16 seasons, teetered between the two choices. Some reports indicated that Miami offered more money. Others indicated that Fisher was uncomfortable with the Rams' lease situation. Fisher coached the Titans through their move from Houston to Memphis to Nashville and was said to be uncomfortable with the thought of a coaching through a second relocation saga.Fisher's resume includes a career record of 147-126 with the Oilers/Titans franchise, six playoff appearances and a loss to the Rams in Super Bowl XXXIV.After firing Steve Spagnuolo on Jan. 2, Rams owner Stan Kroenke indicated that he preferred a coach with previous NFL experience. Spagnuolo had been defensive coordinator for the Giants before taking the Rams' jobs.Spagnuolo's predecessor, Scott Linehan, likewise had been a coordinator before his promotion in 2006. The team's record in the past six years is 23-73, with no playoff appearances.
