Didn't you also have SHAQ at one time there, or am I mistaken on that, I'm NOT an NBA guy at all.
I respectfully will disagree with your opinion as well. While you're correct that the defense has never been that great ,it's never been worse than this season. I believe that even if Peyton would've played this season the colts don't even make the playoffs. Years when colts were successful in the playoffs and more they had a decent defense and a good enough running game to help out Peyton. They've showed this season they have neither. And I believe their issues go all the way to HC and maybe GM.Those are issues that not even Peyton can overcome
doesn't matter that they haven't changed, they're playing worse than last year.some say it's coaching.some have other opinions .You have yours as well.i already shared my thoughts and opinions on the subject as you did.you haven't brought any new points to the table for debate.so at this point it's just hammering in opinions which I refuse to do. You don't agree with me and I don't agree with you. No big deal.we don't need to hog up this thread in a back and forth here.its not fair to the other members . We should move on.I don't get what you're saying about the defense.
The defense this year is basically the same as last year's defense...it hasn't changed. Only the QB has changed, and all of a sudden the defense doesn't look so good...because, as I said, Peyton is not controlling the game anymore.

there's no need to apologize. you're bringing more info so post as much as you like. the offense is a huge problem yes but again peyton doesn't play defense. i'm not going to excuse their defense for dropping from a 20th ranked defense in 2010 to 27th in 2011. and basically every other statistic has dropped off compared to last season.so far they have less turnovers than last year which is one of the most important stats besides points allowed.so i'm not saying anything wrong here. they are worse.Sorry to post again, but I had already looked up some info, and it's very pertinent to the discussion.
Last year the Colts allowed 24.3 points per game...this year's Colts are allowing 27.4. Not a huge difference...probably because it's basically the same defense.
Offense, however, is a different story...last year with Peyton, 27.2 points per game. This year without Peyton, 15.3 points per game.
There ya go, the problem this year isn't defense, it's basically the same. The problem is offense.
And the only change on offense this year is Peyton Manning isn't there.

maybe. could be. but every category is worse than last year. but i just want to make clear that i'm not saying the offense isn't a problem because it is a huge problem. but to say that the defense has never been better than this season and that the current issues with the colts have always been there isn't accurate. they have ? marks about the HC and now even the GM. they've had decent running games in the past which that is no longer the case and there defense just gets worse and worse. basically the team seems to be getting worse. my point all along has been that playing peyton would not resolve all these other issues. issues that haven't always been there. The D is only 3-4 points different, is it possible that the OTHER teams have just moved ahead of them on the D ?

i thought that at first but i was surprised to see that the minutes weren't that different from last year. i'm assuming the stats on NFL.com are accurate. they have made some mistakes in the past. and the amount of downs played by the defense in 2010 was 1,010 compared to this year which is 1,005 .Yes the defense dropped but that could very well be because there offense is not holding onto the ball as much. Look at denver. Before Tebow and his run happy eat up the clock offense Denver was not playing very good D. After Tebow and his controlling of the game they are allowing on avg under 15points a game.

it helps for sure.....It is said by some that the best defense just might be a very good ball-control offense....
i agree. but they have been better even if not great which has never been the case.Indy's D has always been somewhat suspect, never thier strength.

Only problem here is , will the Dolphins D be able to stop Brady and Company, Denver's top notch D couldn't ....
their rushing offense is 23rd this season which is better than last year which was 29th so some improvement there. in 2007 they were 18th but its gone down hill since the 08 season.Wow, thats surprising seeing they have a very good running game now that eats up the clock.
