Titans reach 4 year, $12 million deal with Jake Locker. So far, rookie lockouts don't seem to be an issue under the new system.

Dolphins signed former Panthers QB Matt Moore and bypassed chance to trade for Kyle Orton.
There will be more teams fighting to get the first round draft in 2012(& Andrew Luck) than who'll be trying to win the Super Bowl. It wouldn't surprise me if the Indianapolis Colts also tried to get into the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.

I couldn't read this with a straight face.
You REALLY think that teams would tank a shot at a title and football glory just for a QB that we don't know will do well or not?
The Colts? They have Peyton Manning, a living legend. They could care less about this Luck guy.
I can't see teams going "Screw the Super Bowl. Let's tank the season for the chance to draft a college QB that may not make it?"
This is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard on this site.
I don't know, the Dolphins signing Matt Moore to be QB seems to be proving me right. I use to think that the Dolphins coming up with the Wildcat offense was pure genius, now I realize it was a gimmick(a very successful one) to hide their glaring QB deficiency. By the way,if the Colts could get Andrew Luck,he'd be to them what Steve Young was for the 49ers,Joe Montana's replacement(ditto Aaron Rodgers with the Packers). Anyway,I cynically would not be surprised if teams, who feel that they have a marginal shot at the playoffs, would just throw in the towel & tank the season for the chance to get Andrew Luck. People can seriously figure out if their team is actually trying or not to win. Carolina(even with Cam Newton),Denver,Miami,Oakland are teams that come to mind. Add San Francisco,Cleveland,Buffalo,Cincinnati to the list also.

lol from twitter: @greggrosenthal Bengals week in review: Trade @ochocinco, lose J. Joseph, and sign two Raiders.
Bengals also just released Antawan Odom.
I don't think it was much as a gimmick as it was to put full use of both very good RBs at the same time. Living in Miami and having the unfortunate task of watching some of those games, I do not think they did that for that reason.
And being a Raider fan and knowing Al Davis alot better than most because I follow the team, there is NO WAY Al would tank games on purpose. Fans are ALWAYS wanting/wishing their teams could/would do that, but that is the difference between being a fan and being an owner. You start losing games on purpose 3/4 during the season will bring less arse into the seats and that affects the bottom line.
We'll just have to see. Once the season starts,we need to start an "Andrew Luck Watch" thread to follow the trend of teams who "seem" to be performing below their talent level. Just like John Elway,Troy Aikman,& yes,Peyton Manning were considered once in a lifetime players(& I'm sure people questioned back then if they'd live up to the hype before they played their first snap in the NFL),Andrew Luck seems to be the once in a lifetime player come the 2012 draft.NOW that is contingent upon how well he does this college season. The question right now is was going back to play one more year for Stanford the wisest decision for him. I know one thing,if he had come out for the 2011 draft,we wouldn't be having THIS discussion.

Not to mention Carson Palmer on the Reserve/Did Not Report list.
