He may be right, but why bring it up publicly and just put more pressure on Flacco than there already was??can't argue with the guy. imo he's right........

Championship Sunday facts and figures......
Conference Championship Records:
Ravens: 1-1
Patriots: 6-1
Giants: 4-0
49ers: 5-7
* this will be the 8th Championship Sunday appearance for the Patriots, tying them for third in the AFC with the Broncos (Steelers 15, Raiders 11)
* The Giants at 4-0 are one of two teams that are undefeated on Championship Sunday AND have won more than one conference championship (Bengals 2-0)
* this will be the 9th conference championship hosted by the 49ers, trailing only the Steelers (11).
maybe because the defense is tired of carrying the load all the time and guys like reed see their window of winning a championship closing quick. the timing may not be great but i certainly understand it. if Flacco can't handle the pressure then he's only further proving what most already think of the guy.
Nifty stats. Thanks Bill!
Didn't know that about the Broncos OR Raiders.
when flacco produces like Reed has in the NFL then yes. again, i'm not saying the timing is great but flacco just needs to step it up on the field. So, if Brady lights up the Ravens D, and the Pats win say 35-31, for example, can Flacco publicly criticize the his D??
No good can come out of airing this in public just a few days before the game. After the game, if Flacco turns in a stinker, fine....

Yes it's true the timing is terrible .but if this rattles him then flacco is truly soft. If reed is wrong then prove it. That'll shut his big mouth.TOTALLY agree. I don't care if he's right, wrong, or neither...Ed Reed should keep his big mouth shut. Flacco already has enough pressure on him, he doesn't need any more.
You do not publicly criticize your own teammate like this BEFORE a championship game.

I just don't think it's such a huge issue that's all. To me anyway. Many share my take on it and many share yours. Nothing wrong with thatWhatever, I COMPLETELY disagree with this logic. Reed does not need to be testing his own QB for softness, or for anything else for that matter. The Patriots will do enough testing.
Reed should have his QB's back, not be one more thing for Flacco to think about.
Sandra
If there's a defense flacco should be able to get it done that would be the pats. He faced a much tougher defense last weekend.
While there's no doubt the Pats aren't a top tier defense, they're the healthiest they've been all year and have been playing much better of late.
that's why I said flacco needs to shut reeds big mouth up. Should flacco be stupid enough to let this rattle him before the biggest game of his career? He shouldn't.Remember when Tom Brady said he'll put up points but he doesn't know if his defense can stop the other team?
Remember when Patrick Willis said 'I'm not sure we can win with Alex Smith at QB'?
Remember when Derek Jeter said he doubts Yankee pitchers' abilities to come thru in the playoffs?
Remember when Chris Chelios said 'Chris Osgood isn't Dominik Hasek, so goaltending could be a problem in the playoffs'?
Remember when Dwyane Wade said "Lebron James has a history of fourth quarter playoff failure, so we may not be able to win a championship with him'?
Remember when Jason Terry said 'we'll never win anything with a 7-footer who plays 90% of the game away from the basket'?
The answer is no, because none of those people are stupid or arrogant enough to say it....even if they were thinking it.

That makes two of us . Not here but I've read elsewhere how some actually think reed is showing respect to flacco by this move. I can't agree with that at all!!!!It shouldn't even be a question of how Flacco will respond to negative comments from teammates. As cosmo said, nothing good can come of this.
I like the Baltimore defense and their attitude, but between Reed's stupidity and the piece I just saw on Myra Kraft, I'm now hoping Tom Brady is the one who shuts Reed's big mouth up. Who thought I would ever say that...
