Those matchups are great I went to Opening night a couple seasons ago and with the Toronto fans that make it in, its a pretty festive night

Lets hope they didn't use up all thier goal scoring magic

So far, I'm VERY impressed by Jimmy Howard- made a lot of tough saves in the opening period.

Chalk one up for the Red Wings, they have played most of the game in the Wings defensive end, but score the first goal.

1-0 Wings !!!

Kind of like walks in Baseball, these Power Plays are killing the wings

Unfortunately the refs woke up and are going to call make this game like the last one in SJ.
A constant path to the box ....
This does NOTHING for the quality of either team..

Also why is it everytime the Wings win a face off the refs stop play and call an uneven drop ?

Yeah...4 penalties on Detroit (2 more phantoms) and only 1 on San Jose. Ugh!

Where's the penalty for goaltender interference...apparently Howard didn't flop enough.
