2010-2011 College Bowl Season

The ACC is going to be destroyed in the bowls. They are by far one of the weakest conferences in the FBS this year without a doubt.

The officiating is so poor in some of these games now that its simply astounding. I know the play you are talking about, watched the instant replays, plus the replay on my DVR and had thought there was no way in hell that the placement would stand. There were several other plays in which the calls were so bad it was amazing, but that one was so bad that I would ask for an investigation, if I were the Toledo coach. The game was stolen from them by the officials, IMO. Then, for the ESPN guys to say that officiating at the bowls was a reward for being good officials made me want to puick. Those guys were from the ACC (IIRC) and from what I have seen, the ACC and BE are having a challenge to see which can have the poorest officiating. Up to now, I thought the BE was winning that contest, but the ACC seems to have reclaimed the lead. :(

Even with the poor officiating, Toledo threw 3 interceptions, (by the freshman QB) he looked just plain BAD, he can run, but not throw.
I wish Beckman would have put Danton in, but he didn't, oh well.

As if FLA was not already at risk of losing to Penn st, but now they have 4 less key starters (including Jenkins) out on injury and there Def, Coordinator is in the hospital.

Did anybody watch Missouri-Iowa last night in the Insight Bowl? Fantastic game. The Missouri QB Gabbert has a major league arm, but Iowa was the better team. Fun to watch.

I watch parts of the game, but missed the ending.
Chances are it will be shown again during the day sometime soon.

edit:
3 am on the 30th for anyone that wants to record it and watch it, it was a very good game.

Great to see a Big Ten team come up with a nice victory, especially Iowa who was up against some long odds. Hyde's interception return was amazing!

I certainly don't believe they are the weakest conference, go stat viewing again and you will see they stack up pretty good. What hurts the conf the most is they beat up on each other too much. So far NC St and Maryland has givin the ACC 2 Bowl wins... I'm sure there will be more with the big win over Stanford soon to come ;)

Great win for Ralph Friedgen. Horrible day for Maryland. I have been a Terrapin Club member for 25 years, but that ended on December 20th. Maybe Ralph had to go, but the way that this situation was handled is just another example of how college sports has become a money game. I never thought that I would miss Debbie Yow, but this jackass, Kevin Anderson, just doesn't get it. Maryland depends on fan support. Army depends on your tax dollars. I will never stop rooting for my Terps, but my money will now head home to my alma mater, Bucknell.

Bad teams beating up each other means absolutely nothing. It's when you play the other teams that matters. And so far the ACC has reaked in that department.

I hear the excuse every year that the SEC teams beat each other up. Yes they do, but they also take care of business when playing OOC.

Who did Maryland and NC State beat? Oh yeah, East Carolina and West Virginia. Not exactly marque wins. Hell, my alma mater lost to Air Force!

well its true? lol yeah they all do but for some odd stupid reason it just appears year in and year out that with so much competition between all the teams and talent floating around that none of them can go undefeated. This year VT did it for the first time that I can remember and that speaks alot for a program that nearly tanked the year with the opening they had.

I hear ya... hard to argue that fact but I still believe the conference is good considering stats that all the teams have put up. Don't get me wrong I'm not going to die hard defend the conference since I'd love to see my own team VT in the SEC, talks were going around but the AD of the school won't hear anything of it.

That was one of the better games that has been showed so far. Great arm, yes, but is he as good as the ESPN morons carried on, not from what I saw.

The Oklahoma State game was a good one to watch, but was so much better with the "mute" button activated. :D

Ohh man don't get me started on a few of the ESPN peps that call games, I think the worse is that one woman. She called the Maryland game yesterday - dumb as a box of rocks with no emotion at all!! If I can remember all their names I'm sure I could come up with 5 or so that are the best at it.
