Interesting for those directly involved for sure, but I left them off my list because neither Minnesota or Michigan State are worthy.

uh yeah OK...whatever

obviously you dont follow college hockey very close (or just figure the only "good" games apparently are on CBS College and ESPNU)

now if you'll excuse me...I have a late night game to watch from Anchorage (against Denver)

Hockey is King!!!

As I mentioned in another thread...

OK, I can't understand why there is nary a mention of this here in the Sports Forum. The Big Chill in the Big House was huge for several reasons:

1. The attendance of 113,411 eclipsed the former Hockey attendance record (Germany) by more than 35,000.
2. More people attended this event than any football game in Michigan Stadium history (and they've had 100,000+ fans per game since 1975).
3. Largest NCAA crowd ever (again, surpassing Michigan's football program).
4. This event was attended by more than 42,000 fans over the NHL's record setting 2008 Winter Classic.
5. Eclipses the NFL's single game record (a Super Bowl no less) by almost 10,000.
6. Surpasses the MLB's single game attendance record by more than 20,000.

The best part is Michigan win 5-0 over Michigan State.

Sad part was that, there was very little publicity about the game here, and we are hosting the World Juniors Championship here in a couple weeks and it should be awesome. I went to the Winter Classic at The Ralph and would have loved to watch this outdoor game at the Big House.

ESPN talked a lot about it. I personally have no interest in a game that can't really be seen.

Good games on TV this weekend:

All games on CBS College Sports and ESPN U

Bad games on TV this weekend:

All Minnesota Duluth games and anything else Iceberg wants to watch! :D

I kid, I kid...looks like the boys are taking a break for a couple of weeks, although I'm sure Iceberg will tell us all about the McGill-UQTR replay he'll pull in on his BUD this weekend. ;)

games on TV that I know of

Saturday is the US under 18 against North Dakota in a exhibition
7:00 FSSN and FCS

other than that its just a sprinkling of non-conference games

The real fun will start next week when the World Junior championships begin. Canada's version of March Madness.
