2010-11 NBA PLAYOFFS

Lakers just need to do it one more time so Phil Jackson can get his 2nd 3peat and retire. Then Kobe can have as many rings as Jordan even though Jordan will always be considered better.

THIS was the message that needed to be sent to the CELTICS:

"I told Paul you still don't react," Rivers said. "I thought as a whole we were the retaliating team. We were never the first-hit team."

What happened here was simple: Miami beat Boston at its own game. Usually it's the boys in green who are accused of playing chippy, who rile opponents with their physical play, who wind up watching the other guy implode at the worst possible moment. In this game, the bullies got bullied.

And that was something the HEAT had not done ALL YEAR. I find it interesting that what the HEAT did today is what the CELTICS do to EVERYONE... hard, physical, get-under-your-skin basketball. THIS game, the roles were reversed... and THE Celtics are complaining?! Really? Seriously?! oh-kay....

Personally, I think they concentrated TOO MUCH in trying to be more physical than the HEAT, trying to "send a message" ...instead of just trying to win the game. No one gives a sh** about style points in the playoffs...a win is a win!

i said the exact same thing yesterday. i'm sorry but when they've done the same to the heat i've never heard the heat complain about it. i don't agree with pierce being thrown out. bad call there by the ref but don't act all innocent and sh**. especially kevin and paul who do this kind of thing to everyone else in the league. game two is going to be even harder as i feel the celtics are going to be on fire after yesterdays loss. heat must win game 2 because games 3-4 will be the most difficult yet. i don't have much confidence they'll win any of those two at boston but hopefully i'm dead wrong about that. so get ready heat!!!!!

I think the Hawks will give ALL that the Bulls can handle and win that series. The playoffs are about matchups...and the matchups look pretty even to a slight edge to the Hawks.

PG --- Derrick Rose vs. Kirk Hinrich ... edge ROSE
SF --- L. Deng vs. Jason Collins ...huge edge to DENG
SG --- Bogans vs. Jose Johnson ...huge edge JOHNSON
PF --- Boozer vs. Josh Smith ....slight edge to BOOZER
C --- Jakim Noah vs. Al Hartford ...EVEN
Bench --- huge edge to HAWKS
Intangleables --- Homecourt BULLS.

Atlanta in 7.

Makes you wonder how this team did not do better.

You don't think Derrick Rose is a HUGE edge over Kirk Hinrich?

What about the "intangible" of playoff history? ATL always fizzles out in the playoffs. Until they prove otherwise, I have no reason to believe this year won't be the same.

I think Hinrich has 40 playoff games of experience. Many with of which with much of the same players in Chicago. THAT is was does not give Rose a huge edge.

Well, the good news is this is not college football where the debate is all we have...this will be decided on the court, for all to see.

I think the Paul Pierce ejection had little to no effect on the outcome of the game, but again David Stern's refs become the story of a game that they didn't need to be.

Hawks 103
Bulls 95

.....:shh:shh:shh

..oh yeah... WITHOUT Kirk Hinrich.

LOL one game always means so much around here. It's a long series...and I happen to be rooting for Kirk Hinrich...I just think Derrick Rose is a lot better.

If the Hawks win and Hinrich outplays Rose, I promise to be the first to congratulate you for seeing that coming.

I agree. BUT considering the history AND what happened just one minute earlier.... Pierce should have know better...especially when the Celtics are the ones that usually get under other peoples skin.

Has NOTHING to do with congratulations and the fact that most of you think the Bulls are THAT good and the Hawks are THAT bad. The Bulls are a 1 1/2 man team. As a group, they can beat anyone....like MOST teams in the NBA. But if Rose falters like last night, there is no one, I think that can carry the entire team for a whole game. AND, Atlanta has a way better bench.

Tonight will be MORE intense, but less physical. Both team know that the refs will be ready to blow the whistle for those intentional fouls and technicals. I expect a possible quick start by the Celtics, a comeback by the Heat to open a big lead, the Celtics make a furious comeback and the Heat by hitting the freethrows in a close game.
