Im glad the Celtics pulled it out last night. I have been a Celtics a fan before some of you were born or thought of. A first round defeat would have been embarrassing but I do not hold out much hope without Garnet and Powe. Even fully armed Im not sure there is any stopping Lebron this year.

I would be SHOCKED if it's anything other than Lakers-Cavs in the Finals. Everything else is preliminaries this year.

Heat-Hawks is another blowout. What a surprise. Cleveland ought to roll over the Hawks as easily as they did Detroit, especially since the Hawks won't bother to show up for half the games.

Between the Hawks and Heat, the Hawks are the better "team". Sure, you don't have the Wade vs. LeBron matchup everyone wanted, but you'll see a better series with the Hawks vs. Cavs.

1 thru 5, Atlanta is athletic as all hell. Josh Smith and Joe Johnson are two of the most underrated players in the league. This is a team that's tough at home, but can appear to be lost on the road. It'll be interesting to see if the Cavs are rusty in the first game from the long layoff.

I'm just glad the Cavs opponent is determined already. And guess who has tickets to the first game of this series on Tuesday?....... THIS GUY!!! :D I'll be at the Q, cheering on my team in two more short days. It's been a long layoff, but us Clevelanders have a lot of pent up energy to get back into the swing of NBA Playoff Basketball. Onto the 2nd round.

Cavs in 5.

ditto. In a weird way Id like my team , Boston, to lose the next round so I can sit back and root for Lebron. With Powe and Garnett out its futile IMO. They showed their heart against the bulls and thats enough for me.

Forgot to make my second round predictions with two series ending in two days, so here are mine:

Nuggets in 6. They have the firepower and can play some good D, but IDallas is a tough team with a great bench. Ultimately, it'll come down to bench play and which team can steal one on the road.

Lakers in 5. Houston can make each game tough- this will not be a series of routs- but the Laker bench will be the difference.

Cavs in 5- Cleveland's better. Atlanta has the talent, but while I don't see them winning on the road, they could win one at Phillips Arena. IMO, Atlanta will play a lot harder than Detroit did in round 1.

Magic in 6- The Bulls series took a lot of energy out of the C's. I think fatique and injuries may catch up to Boston. Also, Orlando has won in Beantown this year, so the Magic will have no fear of starting on the road,

True, but this Magic-Celtics series could go either way (I'm still not sold on Orlando).

However, neither team stands a chance against the Cavs.

The only team standing in the way of a Cavs-Lakers Finals is Denver, and even that is the longest of long shots!

While I wouldn't be surprised if the series went this way, it won't be because the Celts have nothing left in the tank.

If the Magic beat the C's it's because they're the better team. That being said:

Cavs in 4
Celtics in 7
Lakers in 5
Nuggets in 6

Not on the road they won't. The Hawks only play hard when they feel like it. I think they get down 0-2, play hard in Game 3, maybe even win it, and then get buried from there. Lebron's got more competitiveness in his pinky than the Hawks have as a team.

Did you miss game 4 when Atlanta won big on the road?

They won by 10 but the game was close and THAT game was Miami's missed opportunity. Healthy Wade in that game and Miami would be in Cleveland after 6 games....but those are the breaks.

Miami lost because the young kids just not mature enough and there was a lack of inside toughness. This team improved WAY beyond anyone's imaginations....28 MORE wins than last year.....been a very long time since a team had THAT much improvement. The future is VERY bright for the HEAT.

Beasley and Chalmers are only gonna get better, and the Heat will probably win 50 games next season.

For once, it looks like the pendulum is swinging to the Eastern Conference.

More teams (Atlanta, Chicago, Miami) are on the way up in the East. I can only think of Portland as a team that is ascending in the West.

And I know ALOT of people are not convinced about Orlando....but I think they have a good team with a good coach.

Salsa, I'm sorry about the Heat's season ending early.

I felt conflicted during the final game- on one hand, I had predicted the Hawks would win in seven, but given the bad luck that your teams have gone through recently, I felt for you.

Besides, I'm sure you would have been happy with 30-35 wins, let alone the fifth seed in the East.

Apology not needed my friend.....They are young and still a one man show when it comes to offense....and unlike most, when it comes to my teams, I am a realist and THINK with my HEAD, but ROOT with MY HEART. UNTIL Beasley develops a killer instinct....they will not win. When Beasley wanted to go inside, there was no one on that Atlanta team that could stop him...he CLEARLY showed that in game 6 with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Like Bill said, Beasley and Chalmers will get better. And if they pick-up a Boch or a Studemaire....They will IMMEDIATELY become big time NBA championship contenders.....they are that close.
