2009 NBA Playoffs

Bulls win it in double OT, 121-118.

Series tied 2-2............game 5 Tuesday night in Boston.

What a series!!!!!!

Cavs sweep the Pistons.

Congrats to our resident Cavs fanatics: HD and Sky! :)

You guys have a VERY special team there! :up

NOW the big question is, who do the Cavs play next?

Will it be Miami or Atlanta?

Cavs sweep Pistons. Quite a contrast from the heart-stopping series that the last two teams with the best regular-season record went through- Mavs/Warriors, Celtics/Hawks.

Oh, and once again, LeBron- :bow:bow:bow:bow

Time for HD to scout the second-round opponent!

You took the words right out of my mouth- I was just going to ask that.

(Unlike the NHL and NFL, the NBA does not reseed the highest-seed against the lowest-seed)

Let's look at the scenarios.

On one hand, Miami/Cleveland would give NBA fans the wet-dream matchup of LeBron vs. Flash (We all remember their 40+ point duel a while back).

On the other hand, Atlanta/Cleveland would match teams with up-tempo excitement and great players (Hawks have good skill themselves- there's a reason Hawks basketball is alive and kicking).

IMO, HD will be paying close attention to this series- his Cavs will have a lot of time off, and he'll be at full attention to see who the Cavs play next.

The Cavs have AT LEAST 7 days off before they start the second round. The earliest the Cavs could start is next Sunday at The Q.

OTOH, the Cavs could have as many as 10 days off IF the Heat-Hawks series goes 7.

The only reason the Bulls are in this series is because KG is not playing.
If Kevin Garnett was in, this would have been a sweep.
Baby Davis is good, but all those missed shots under the rim came bite us in the read, and Perkins fouled out...it hurt us in the long run.
I think Mikey Moore should have gotten more minutes in the 2nd overtime.
He is a guy that can finish strong under the rim (besides Perkins/KG).
Oh well, we will finish them off next game.

Yup, at least few days off if Miami doesn't win the next game.
This is huge for the Cavs, enough rest to start the 2nd round strong, but its not always a good thing resting for several days, it kinda stops your momentum going into the 2nd round.

Magic defeats Sixers on a three point shot by Turkoglu with 1.1 left, 84-81.

Thanks fellas. We will use the potential week long layoff as a much needed rest period.

As for our next opponent, I actually don't favor either one. ABC flashed stats on the 4 games we played against each of these teams. All of the stats are nearly identical. We also have a 3-1 record against both the Heat and Hawks this season.

From a viewer standpoint, I guess I'd like to see a LeBron vs. Wade pairing.

No sign of HD?

I'm surprised he hasn't posted yet- I'm waiting for his thoughts on today's series-clincher.

Honestly Sabres, I'm not overly zealous of the win. And that is a GOOD thing. We have bigger goals this season than just advancing past the 1st round. This win was expected. I expected the Cavs to dominate this series and they did. Business as usual from my Cavs.

See you in round 2 Hawks or Heat!

Bill, I DVR'd both this game and my Cavs game and watched them both. What a series this has been! Wow!

I did the same....too bad we missed the 1st half of the Cavs game (although C's-Bulls was a great finish).

I thought the Pistons were going to take at least one game....guess I over-estimated them. Go Cavs!! It's going to be a long wait until the next round.

I'm confident against either the Hawks or Heat, but if I had to choose, I'd rather not see D-Wade. I still have vivid memories of what 1 superstar can do in the playoffs....
