2009 MLB Playoffs

I wonder if the Goodyear blimp can make it down to the Big A from Chavez Ravine in time to cover both games???? :p

Think it moves like 35MPH doesn't it ?? If so not as much traffic as the I5 thats fo sho.. hehe

HD, I think you did a really good job with that list. Even I made a mistake once (every few minutes). I need your opinion on something. The "experts" on TV keep calling Citizens Bank Park a bandbox. I never hear that term used about the new Yankee Stadium but it seems home runs fly out of there pretty much as well. There were no home runs hit in CB Park Wednesday but there were in Yankee Stadium. Of course Ryan Howard and Jason Werth had balls blown back that likely would have been gone if not for the wind. I never watch the Yankees so maybe I'm just too sensitive about my perceived negative comments about the Phillies ball park. Would like civil comments from any of you great fans. How's that for buttering up you guys?

YIKES! I'm listening to the Rockies/Phillies game on ESPN radio and "Boomer" is doing the PBP with Rick Sutcliffe doing "color". They scraped the bottom of the barrell for this pairing.

Can't be much worse than the guy doing the game for TBS.

Good observation Geonaz.

The term "bandbox" is used to describe a field whose dimensions are small and thus favor the hitter.

CB's field dimensions are 329' from left field foul pole, 401' from center and 330' from right field foul pole.

The new Yankee stadium's dimensions are 318' from left, 408' at center and 314' at right.

If Citizen's Bank Park is termed a "bandbox", Yankee stadium deserves the same title.

At least their HD PQ is pretty good. And I like the fact that they're using the full 16x9 screen by pushing that PitchTrax box all the way over to the right side.

That's the ONLY graphic being utilized for 16"x9". We still have the TBS bug and Score Box being displayed for a 4:3 display. So annoying.

Another question. When networks display their bugs for in the 4:3 region on 16"x9" broadcasts, does this also mean the camera man is framing his shot for 4:3? Use a football game for example. It would make so much more sense to have the offense on 1 extreme of the 16:9 frame so the viewer has more screen space to see the offense and defense develop down the field. Instead, it seems everything is always framed at the center of the screen. So much TV real-estate is being wasted.

When will this be figured out?

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Red Sox manager Terry Francona said that pitcher Paul Byrd will be available out of the bullpen for the Red Sox during their American League Division Series against the Angels. Reliever Manny Delcarmen, however, will not be a member of the roster. Byrd pitched three innings of relief on the final day of the season, allowing two runs to finish his year with a 5.82 ERA. Delcarmen struggled to an 8.59 ERA after July 28.

Smart move by Francona, IMO.

MDC has been toast the last two months, and Byrd will serve as the long man/mop-up guy.

Rocco Baldelli will be inactive for the Angels series.

The Sox will go with Brian Anderson and Joey Gathright as their reserve outfielders.

I'm very happy to see my favorite Sox lineup being employed tonight!!!

Jacoby Ellsbury- CF
Dustin Pedroia- 2B
Victor Martinez- C
Kevin Youkilis- 1B
David Ortiz- DH
Jason Bay- LF
Mike Lowell- 3B
J.D. Drew- RF
Alex Gonzalez- SS

Jon Lester- P
