The Mets are collapsing again and the Brewers are still losing.

I ALWAYS KNEW that the Marlins in ONE WAY OR ANOTHER would be involved in the pennat race. They have a HUGE series this weekend against the Phillies and then END THE SEASON in Shea Stadium.....

Damn it would be nice to see them KILL the Phillies chances by taking ATLEAST 2 out of 3 and then doing the same thing in Shea next week...like they did LAST year when they eliminated the METS.....

The Rays are now 2 games ahead of the Red Sox in the AL East. The Rays magic number to clinch the East is now 10.

The White Sox retain their 2.5 game lead over the Twins. The White Sox magic number to clinch the Central is now 9.

The Red Sox remain 7 games ahead of the Twins for the wildcard. The Red Sox magic number to clinch the wildcard is now 4.

the Giants were officially eliminated from playoff contention with their loss to the D-Backs last night.

With the Dodgers defeating the Pirates this afternoon, it officially eliminated the Rockies from postseason contention.


The Dodgers magic number over the D-Backs is now down to 7 (Arizona plays later this evening).

The Yankees can only be eliminated from the AL EAST tonight (and that's only if Tampa wins and the Yankees lose). The Yankees will live another day as far as the wildcard goes. The yanks elimination number for the wildcard is 3 and the Red Sox are off tonight, so the lowest the Yankees elimination could be after tonight is 2.

The Cubs scored 4 runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the Brewers, 6-6. The game is now in the bottom of the 11th still tied.
