2008 MLB Playoffs

If Boston and Philly win the rest of their games, what's the earliest possible World Series start day? I doubt most of the country wants to see Seattle/Tampa Bay.

The World Series is locked into a Wed., October 22nd start.

It's so amazing to me how much of a team player Manny has become since the move to LA. Over the years in Boston whenever there was a confrontation on the field Manny was nowhere to be found. But, of course he wasn't playing for a new contract. Now, he's out there trying to incite stuff and back his teammates. What a tool.

Jeez! The Red Sox are getting smoked.

They sure are.

IMO, this was a bigger game for the Red Sox than the Rays.

The Sox have Wakefield and Dice-K going the next two games, both of which can be very taxing on a bullpen.

The big question for game 4: Will the good or bad Tim Wakefield show up?

They sure are.

Bill, has Byrd been relegated to the bullpen? I think the crafty veteran would fair well if given the opportunity to start.

Yes, and he shouldn't have been.

Francona went with Wakefield as the fourth starter out of loyalty (at least that's what I surmised), when Byrd was clearly the better pitcher down the stretch!

Being down in the ALCS is the MO, for the Sox.

04 Down 3-0
07 Down 3-1

I am not worried, neither should you.;)

Chip Carey sucks.

I STILL don't think Chip is as bad as Joe Buck.

Buck doesn't show ANY emotion, as I saw in games 1 and 2 of the NLCS. Contrast that with Chip Caray's call on Boston's series-winning hit against the Angels.

I'm sorry, but I can't stand Joe Buck as a baseball announcer. I have no problems with him as a football announcer, but he is not tailor-made for baseball because he lacks emotion.

Sorry,
but this crew is the worst LCS crew that I've ever heard (and yes, I too can't stand Buck).

Who's the biggest NFL disappointment so far this season?

Best World Series of all-time?
