The american press is nearly the same like our european press. The one and only independent news channel is EuroNews. But our locals aren't independent. ARD and RTL Group is on the left side, ZDF and ProSiebenSat1 is on the right side.
I also believe that ABC, CBS and NBC are independent. But I can't say it exactly 'cos I only receive CNBC Europe with some hours of the NBC Network from New York. And the CBS Evening News every night live on SKY NEWS UK.
But I realy know the content of FOX NEWS ... it's not allowed here, but sometimes I'm watching it

Greta Van S. works for Fox news and her husband was a John Kerry fundraiser. They always have 2 people from differing points of view on. AS I mentioned before if you can not make and informed statement DON"T make one. If you don't have Fox in Germany how can you tell us who do have it their content.???....did you get that from the news media in the fatherland again? The only reason people don't like Fox is the fact they kick every other channels ass and people like them. O'Reilly rips both sides and has the highest rated show on cable TV in the the USA. If you think CBS is independant you ever hear of the memo-gate scandal that cost Dan" self proclaimed bleeding heart liberal" his job. That is just one instance. Most major news outlets slant left and I will even admit Fox slants to the right sometimes but their is a reason they are #1 in viewership.
AS for the german Gov. not letting Fox in Germeny, maybe they are scared their people will begin to think something other than the crap they get from the outlets you have now.
He can't make an informed statement-that is obvious. Like I said before, I am willing to say that part of the problem may be a launguage barrier here. But he should quit now because this is turning into a circus.

You're absolutely clueless, look at the campaign connections of all the major news organizations - TV and print. There's connections all over the place. Considering half the country would be considered right of center, what's remarkable is that Fox News is the only news organization with significant connections to right leaning organizations and political leaders.
Personally I think they've all become very similar. Bring up a topic, then let a mouth piece from each side repeat their talking points - then move on to the next topic. No real debate of the issues. Isn't it odd that all we hear is that the other side is always wrong - no matter what the issue. Even the same damn issue, when presented by the other side is now a good thing?
Blaming Bush (or Clinton) for everything, no matter what the topic, shows a real lack of intellect. Hopefully Europe is not full of people like Michael-Berliner who are unable to analyze an issue and develop an educated response. And before you jump down my throat, yes everyone can have an opinion - but when you present the same opinion, regardless of the topic - it is worth nothing IMO.

I don't remember AFN as fondly as you. We couldn't even get it in Munich, when we moved to Augsburg, it was years behind the programmiing from the States. We watched Kojak in German if we wanted anything recent.

FOX NEWS isn't a good source for information. IMO it's just a commercial program of/for the republicans.

I didn't call you uninformed I said mis-informed. I know the language barrier can be working against us here. But there is a big difference between the two.
