I haven't seen any progress, and I have had this problem for over two years since upgrading my 722K to the Hopper 3. It only happens on the TV connected to the Hopper, not our other two TVs with Joeys. I get the black screen for a few seconds while watching live TV, and it will always do it...

I was having the opposite problem. My Hopper 3, still on version 389, wouldn't move recordings to my EHD. Rebooting the Hopper seems to have fixed that, at least for now.

I agree that all (extra money) movie channels should be in HD. I don't agree that they should be over streaming. I have been a Dish customer for over 25 years precisely because it's delivered over satellite. I don't need Dish sucking up my capped internet service.

Especially for those of us who do not have unlimited internet and don't have a choice of more than one provider.

That's strange because my Hopper 3 is on 388 and many others on 388 have also commented that the HD/SD designations are gone. Are you sure your system was updated?

That would have been easy if the info wasn't removed from the guide. Just go to channels 300 to about 388 and about half of these movie channels, most of which we pay extra, are still in SD.

It belongs in the guide, not "someplace else". We should have to open the info window to see this.

I agree 100%. It's like Apple making the macOS system settings look like IOS on the iPhone and iPad, another stupid move. Dish Anywhere is not a good user interface, the Hopper guide is much better.

I have the duplicates locked away as well and this would be a non-issue if all the premium movies channels we pay for were in HD, but they are not. Half of them are still in SD, which in this day and age is also unacceptable.

That would be unacceptable, it's my decision of how my capped internet data is used, not Dish. With a family of five, if our TV viewing were to be steaming only, I would blow through Comcast's monthly data cap in no time, and I refuse to pay an addition 30% premium for unlimited data. And since...

For many people, going streaming without satellite would be bad news. Not everyone has good internet service, and many that do also have ridiculous data caps (Comcast!). Regardless of how good the Hopper 3 is, if they got rid of satellite delivery, they probably would go bankrupt.

Thanks for that info, I actually like watching on Dish. I guess I'm old school, but I like scanning the channels to see what's on. I do have a bunch of streaming services as well, mostly for my kids, but I don't sign up for any that are also available as a Dish package.

I know, I have done that may times over the past few years. Didn't get the offer this time. Will wait a couple of days and try again.
