I haven't seen any progress, and I have had this problem for over two years since upgrading my 722K to the Hopper 3. It only happens on the TV connected to the Hopper, not our other two TVs with Joeys. I get the black screen for a few seconds while watching live TV, and it will always do it twice in a row a few seconds apart. There is no set pattern. Sometimes it will happen when I first turn it on, or when I change a channel, or I can be will into watching something and boom, black screen sequence. Of interest however, it only happens on live TV, never while watching a recording. Based on this, it does not appear to be a HDMI handshake issue.
