Wait, didn't HuJax used to coach Palmer at USC, then again in Cincy? This was part of the reason they signed him. He's been playing in the same system for his entire career. You'd think it would be like riding a bike.

We gonna find out.

HueJax RECRUITED him and Cassell to USC. HueJax was the WR coach at Cincinnati...he was not the head coach there.

HueJax not only recruited Palmer at USC, but he was also his Offensive Coordinator.

Still much to find out whether it's the "greatest trade in the history of the NFL" or not.

That was over 10 years ago...and you think he still has the same offensive thinking as his days at USC??! LMAO!

Well...he said that out of excitement. Coaches same dumb things and the media and the fan base take alot of things to be 'written in stone'.

To continue the discussion of horrible teams, an update on the Suck for Luck campaigns from an article on ESPN:

Of the Dolphins' remaining 10 opponents, only one does not have a winning record after seven weeks, and that's the grossly underachieving 2-4 Eagles. The Dolphins' remaining opponents are 37-26, while the Rams' are 33-29 and the Colts' are 27-39. Surely there is a win in there somewhere for the Rams and Colts.

I have a feeling at least one of those teams are going to become the next 0-16 team. Which one is still anybody's guess.

I have a feeling the league is going to have a huge problem on it's hands in December/January, with teams not trying hard enough to win.

I just don't think any players want to have anything less than giving 100% on film and being looked at when considered for their next job. Sparano may already be a dead stick, but that's on their owner to get straightened out. I don't see the Rams phoning it in, and the Colts defense will keep them in games against less than stellar competition (though there's probably only a couple of teams that should be in a position to lose to them... so we'll see).

The Dolphins going 0-16 would be poetic, suck it '72 team.

I agree. It's usually less about the effort on the field, and more about who is put on the field...and how they are used. In the less than transparent world of who is injured, who needs to be held back, etc., you can very easily wind up without your best players on the field for a part or all of the time.

For the sake of the league, I hope this does not happen.

Isn't this why the Commish rearranged the schedule to have more divisional games towards the end of the year? That way, even if a team is "out of it", they'd still have that fire to beat your rival?

In theory, yes. It looked like a stroke of genius this year. There are edge cases to everything, and the handful of truly terribly bad teams this year and the possibility of drafting Andrew Luck could be one of them.

From last week:

The Colts are at Jacksonville in week 17. Wouldn't it be interesting if the Luck sweepstakes came down to that head-to-head matchup??

LMAO!

Golden jabs Dolphins for Gator Day

CORAL GABLES -- Hurricanes fans made their feelings felt Sunday by booing Urban Meyer and the Gators when they were honored at halftime Sunday of the Dolphins-Broncos game at Sun Life Stadium.

Monday, UM coach Al Golden took his jab at the Dolphins when asked about the ceremony that will take place this Thursday night to honor UM's 2001 national title team when the Canes (4-3, 2-2 ACC) host Virginia (4-3, 1-2 ACC).

"I'm just glad we got it right, honoring the right team on Thursday night," Golden said. "Clearly a lot of those guys have set the standard here. That's what we're trying to get back to. We're not going to get there overnight, but man they set the standard with the way they played and their work ethic and commitment to each other."

The league began scheduling just divisional games on Week 17 "in an attempt to increase competition after several cases over the last few seasons of playoff-bound teams resting their regular starters and playing their reserves."
