Here is my SILVER & BLACK 2009 winning schedule

Extremes are fun. Raiders said they hadn't discussed but wouldn't rule out pursuing Garcia again, while ESPN Insider (the paid thing) has a short blurb about a deal in place already and he may start for them this weekend (yeah right).

Has only started 17 games in 3 years...the equivalent of ONE FULL SEASON.

And I wouldn't get too excited to play them twice. Last year, Denver crushed the Raiders 41-14 in Oakland. Then the Raiders went to Denver and stomped them 31-10.....playing Oakland OR KC does not automatically assure you 4 victories.

It does this year!! :up :D

I think you'll need a floundering Raiders team to save some face, the Broncos are only going to win 2-3 of their next 10 games... DAL, NE, @SD, @BAL, @WAS, SD, NYG, @KC, @IND, OAK.

If the franchise is in self destruct mode though then Denver is beatable by even KC at that point, Orton could also lose you a couple of the games you should win (@WAS, @KC).

Only a Broncos fan would puff their chest after wins over a hapless Bengals that should have won the game, and poor Cleveland and Oakland teams.

Say what???????????????????????? :p:D:p:D:p:D:p:D

;)

I was wrong. Denver is for real, they used their cupcake schedule to get their act together and then their coach beat a man that he knew inside and out.

They're going to lose their share of games, but really just need maybe 4 more to secure the division.

They've won the games they should have won so far and then some with their upset over NE. How well they can contend against Baltimore, Indy, and the Giants will dictate if this is a successful year or just one that ends in a mediocre draft pick and the defense getting another year older.

Bengals and Dallas, cupcake???? I think not.

Cleveland and Oakland, of course I agree.

Before the season we had one of, if not THE toughest schedule in the league. Of course that changes as injuries, etc., take their toll, but we still have some VERY tough games ahead as you pointed out. If we finish 10-6 or even 9-7, I'll take that as a very successful season considering all that transpired this off season (but I think we have the potential to have an even better record). Would be nice to sweep the division this year.....we'll see Monday night.

ANd I see no problem with the defense getting another year older. HOLY MOLY, watch out when they have a year together under their belt!

Yes, the Dallas that had to go into OT to beat the hapless Chiefs, and the Bengals who would have beat you if it wasn't for the immaculate deflection.

They way Peyton Manning is playing, I'm not as disappointed knowing my team isn't competitive and won't have to make a fool of ourselves in Indy in January.

PFT One-liners from this last Raiders doozy:

When the Giants went up 28-0, the Raiders had run 12 offensive plays for 13 net yards.

Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell's 85.4 passer rating was his best of the season.

Russell was sacked six times behind a porous offensive line, and fumbled the ball away three times.

Said Raiders coach Tom Cable, "I'm concerned for this football team."

Four offensive drives and four touchdowns added up to a short but sweet effort for Giants QB Eli Manning.

Giants DE Justin Tuck forced one fumble and recovered another as part of the team's defensive onslaught.

Said Giants DE Mathias Kiwanuka, "When we start swarming, it's a great feeling, coming off the field, laughing and jawing about who got the sack."

With RB Ahmad Bradshaw outgaining RB Brandon Jacobs despite fewer carries, is it time for a change in the Giants backfield?

I took this from another board -

Denver's easy schedule...

I decided to check out the schedules of the other 4 undefeated teams... Interestingly enough, THE BRONCOS HAVE PLAYED THE MOST DIFFICULT SCHEDULE!

IND opposing teams are 7-16 (JAX, MIA, AZ, SEA, TEN - no team over .500)
NYG opposing teams are 6-19 (WAS, DAL, TB, KC, OAK - 1 team over .500)
MIN opposing teams are 7-17 (CLE, DET, SF, GB, STL - 2 teams with .500 or better)
NO opposing teams are 8-10 (DET, PHI, BUF, NYJ - faced two teams that are 3-1)
DEN opposing teams are 12-13 (CIN, CLE, OAK, DAL, NE - 3 teams above .500)

People forget, the Broncos dominated the Bengals the entire game until their last minute drive at the end of game. As for the Cowboys, they are better than that KC game. New England, that a fluke, also. There are only so many excuses you can come up with that are even close to valid.

Back to the subject, too bad your team is not better than a 44-7 whoopin'! I doubt it will be the last..........

From one of the power rankings this morning:

Napa prosecutors will soon drop all charges against Tom Cable under the reasoning that his job is punishment enough.

Also on the Giants entry:

The New York Sentinels would have given the Giants a better game.

So yeah, like I said, it's a lot more than the defense being tired, they're just going through the motions and getting paid on both sides of the ball, at least in the view of those on the other side of the line of scrimmage.

Antonio Pierce says playing Raiders "felt like a scrimmage" | ProFootballTalk.com

New York linebacker Antonio Pierce shared his views regarding the Raiders during a Tuesday appearance on Sirius NFL Radio with Alex Marvez and Marty Schottenheimer.

"I do not like knocking teams," Pierce said. "But right now, they're struggling. We're playing that game the other day and, honestly, it felt like a scrimmage, like a practice. It felt like we were going against our offense [in a controlled setting] as far as the tempo.

"There was no vibe of trying or effort from the Raiders at all from a defensive standpoint against their offense. We're getting three-and-outs. You don't hear nobody [saying], 'Hey, let's go!' trying to pick the guys up, rallying them, getting guys fired up. There was nothing. It was quiet. A guy gets sacked or somebody gets beat, they just get up. It's not like there's yelling or no kind of [emotion] about the way they were playing.

"It was shocking to be out there in that game and get that kind of feeling."

The 1-4 Raiders, who somehow beat the Chiefs, have lost three straight games by 20 or more points -- and by scoring seven points or less in each game.

"It's sad because I grew up a Raiders fan," Pierce said. "That organization right now, they need some guidance. They need somebody to pick them up."

Also... DHB... try and tackle the guy, its not a race to the endzone...
