I dont know about this one. I figured out that I am doing what I am supposed to do but it cannot find the files on the usb stick. Also it can only find a few channels on g19 or g17 I think this one needs to go back. Before yall trash me to much I build my own computers and I had a homemade c band setup for years I just cant get this thing to work right.

files all end in .ssu
so if the files are named something else or are corrupt, they won't load.
There is always the option to load via rs232 if usb doesn't work, assuming the previous install had the rs232 port set correctly.

The 2 remote controls and HDMI cable are probably worth the $49. I'll be ordering one ASAP, but Amazon is currently out of stock. Any other sources to purchase?

I don't think amazon will sell this anymore until it becomes legal. (No UL or Part 15)

I received an e-mail from X2 Mr An Wang. The next batch is in transit to Amazon and will take around 20 days. Here is C/P

it's the tampon of sat receivers.
Use it once and throw it away.
Openbox in the past only had 9 months of support for their receivers.
Gestation period for sat receivers I guess.

I may be banned or kick out but I need to say something, We keep loosing our main goal at the forum to share ideas , encourage others to review different brands, learn from different reviews etc etc. Why being so hard on a new brand or a new choices?? Lets hear what people who purchased one has to say it doesnt matter which brand, lets compare with others but please stop hammering others with differents because its not what you may have. At the very end when you open yours you will find in small letters somewhere "MADE IN CHINA". Everybody come heres because of Great members, Great info, Great participation, Friendly, Great reviews, Variety of topics, Quick response on topics w/ friendly responses. ;);)

I have a X2 and I have been fair in my reviews...

The USALS is buggy and will not reliably drive when channels are changed. The DiSEqC 1.2 motor control works, but there are only 32 DiSEqC 1.2 positions and does not provide reliable switch control when using DiSEqC 1.2. The SAT In port current limit is not adequate to drive a HH motor and power a dual output LNBF (125ft of quad RG6, 150ma motor draw, 180ma LNBF draw). The Over Current warning displays and the unit power cycles if the dish movement is initiated more than 30 degrees from center.

As I have previously posted, the X2 is good for fixed dish installs, but would be hesitant to recommend for a typical hobbyist system.

In addition to my previous notes of the product issues... If a manufacturer wants to distribute in the US market, they must play by the same rules that US distributors are subject to. When this unit has the FCC part 15 compliance, a recognized safety compliance, Dolby, HDMI, MPEG and USB licensing, then I would recognize the product as a fair competitor. If they avoid all intellectual property licensing and ignore compliance testing and certification, I have an issue with the product being sold in our market.

I won't be friendly about a product that is thumbing its nose at compliance and fairness in licensing within our market and openly promotes their IKS code and service that allows reception of encrypted subscription services within the US.

There is a right way and a wrong way to sell products that are "Made in China"...

Carlos, I appreciate your sentiment.
Those who want a bargain, or a challenge will see the value and ignore the naysayers.
However, newbies, end users, and what we hams call "appliance operators " , should be warned off.

A lot of receivers owned by members here in the years I've been a member, have had shortcomings.
In some cases, the receiver did one unique thing (4:2:2) and was otherwise a dog.
Others were outrageously overpriced or unreliable.

Value per dollar is always up to the buyer.
That's why we don't all own the same model car. :)
But when some brands constantly leak/burn oil, squeak/rattle, or break down, and others don't, it's worth letting people know.

Maybe I'll buy that Citroen 2CV just for nostalgia sake. :)

And we'll all have a good natured laugh. ;)
