A 40+ GB OS Space is ridiculous. My MAC (Server Edition) has an OS footprint of give or take 25GB. My Android Phone has an OS footprint of < 5 GB. My Android tablet has even less (CM 10.1 doesn't use up much space).

I am not going to say that Windows is not bloated, just pointing out that it was not something special about the Surface that makes it so bloated.

Yeah saw those they look nice. Surface looks nice I might get the wife one but I'm really leaning toward the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T.

Correct, without knowing inventory allocations, it could be a few hundred, a few thousand or maybe tens of thousands. Even 10K isn't that much in the grand scheme of things.

Surface pro is a tablet I would consider given it runs full windows. It would be more of a laptop light. But, I will not buy one now, hopefully in a few generations it will grow into a nice machine (i.e. battery life and weight). It was not until the 3rd generation of iPad and iPhone before I bought them.
