Will you buy a PS4?

Is it the one $399 price? Or will they have multiple bundles, with a camera for $499+ ? Will be interesting what M$ does now with used games.

PS 4 is not bad but I still like the X-One over the PS4 I think they X-box will bring in more titles and more networks to their console.

Yes. I preordered thru Amazon. I was all set on an Xbox One, but the price and their policies sent me running back to Sony. My main use is Blu-ray and streaming media however, not gaming.

No PS4 for me. I use the PS3 now for BluRay movies only.

They might bring more TV networks. If it is anything like this generation was though they definitely won't have more titles. I have been a 360 owner since launch and just picked up my PS3 a couple years ago after the price drop to $250. PS3's list of exclusives dwarfs 360's though and most of them are high quality games. Yes, I love Halo and Gears and those two franchises outsell all of Sony's exclusives combined but that doesn't do much for me as a gamer. Sony definitely has more exclusive titles with more variety of game types though. I don't think it's even close.

I currently have all 3 consoles but am leaning on the PS4. Won't pre-order.. going to wait a month after lauch and see how buggy the system is.
For he optical drive, any specs on it? Blu ray? 3D ?

Cheers, K

Im not as concerned with "Networks", because Ill have Dish, but Sony did say they were planning original programming. Im also curious as to whether the PS4 blu-ray playback will stay software based, of have a chip like Mediatek for those duties (Sony and MT have an indepth relationship).

Stopping by a Gamestop in an hour or two as they open.

I wanted to do it that way so I could pick up my PS4 in person the minute they opened on launch day, take the day off work, and play until I go to sleep. I wasn't going to be able to get in to gamestop until after work today though and by that point I figured I might not be high enough on the list to get one day one. I put my order in on Amazon about 2 minutes after they announced the price so as long as everything goes smoothly I will be playing day one. I'm like a little kid when it comes to this stuff. UPS doesn't typically show up at my house until 4:00 or 5:00pm and the wait is going to be excruciating for me.

I hope swapping hard drives on the PS4 is as easy as it is for the PS3 (i.e., no proprietary BS). The way Sony is making Plus practically mandatory for PS4 (for online play), those free games--not to mention sale-priced digital games--will fill up 500GBs fast. I just put a 1 TB HDD in my PS3, but I won't really need that much space after all if I get a PS4 sooner than later. It would be nice to be able swap the PS4s 500 GB drive for my PS3's 1 TB.

I would like a 1TB hard drive as well since any game I buy will probably be in digital form plus PS Plus like you mentioned. Worst case scenario is you have to start deleting games once you fill up your drive to install new ones. You then have to download and reinstall the games you deleted if you want to play them again. This isn't a terrible situation because you can fit a lot of games on a 500 GB drive and install games you deleted as many times as you want. Still it's a hassle when you do want to go back and play an older game to have to wait for download and installation again.

Sony claims this won't be a real problem though. In their PS4 reveal they said you can start a download and start playing the same game while the download is still in progress. This is something I've never seen from steam or other PC download services so I will be interested to see if it actually works. Typically the entire download has to be completed before you can start installation so if this almost instant play of downloaded games really works it will only be a matter of time before PC gamers get the benefit too.

I pre-ordered the PS4. M$ will be a costly device, not just the hardware, but the hidden fees M$ has planned.

I will laugh if M$ has happen to it what happen to Madden, buy your game and M$ servers are down, cant play your game boo-hoo that is a real problem that can happen as anything on the internet re cloud can get hacked.

Additional details about the PlayStation 4 have begun to emerge following last night's announcements. In addition to be region-free, we've now learned that that the system's 500GB hard drive can be removed and upgraded. Sony Worldwide Studio Head, Shuhei Yoshida, confirmed the news via Twitter early this morning. The move gives the PS4 yet another advantage over the Xbox One, which makes the hard drive inaccessible to consumers.

I'm not bothered by them charging for psn this time around. I was used to paying for Xbox live. Its a small price to pay for all the advantages the ps4 has over the Xbone. Hey, Microsoft; apply cold water directly to the burn.
