Will the 942 pick up a vhf signal???????

I live in Birmingham, Al and the local abc staion broadcasts its hd signal via vhf. All other staions in the area transmit via uhf and my zenith silver star picks them up great. The Atlanta falcons are playing on abc tonight and I was just wondering if I go to the trouble of picking up a vhf antenna, will the 942 even be able to recieve the signal. P.S. Is dish ever going to enable the sd ota stations? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the 942 has a standard ATSC tuner that will decode RF channels 2 through 69, both VHF and UHF. I have no idea when they plan to enable analog decoding.
