It should be better said when there are 100 HD channels for them to add you might be in that home; however when there is 100, at least they will be the first to be able to offer them all.
Heck we go over this a zillion times.
The Scott is an E* guy so he focuses on E*.
DBStalk has a little more information so go there.
I think the only area this site lacks is a strong D* department.
FTA is covered well and the E* side is obviously strong.
I actually used to believe the D* is hard to get information from then I started READING throught the E* forum.
See D* came out and posted their plan a while ago and said this is what we are going to do and are basically running with it.
E* hasnt released a plan so I am wondering if they even have one.
Bottom line is if you want the most comprehensive D* information you have to leave this site.
When Direct turns on 100 HD channels, I'll be in an old folks home!
DircTV's new music channel is interesting. Reminds me of the old "The Box" network anyone remember that.
Sorry guys, I dont have directv, dont plan on getting directv. Personally I think DirecTV sucks. I wish you guys could have been at their CES press congerence as you guys would probably feel the same way about them after that conference as I do. END QUOTE"
How could we feel the same way? When we are watching our MLB EI and NFL ST, which is what many of us have Sat for anyway. Truth is, if your a sat guy and you want these things, the other side really really sucks. I guess I don't understand the side taking. We are no longer comparing apples to apples. They bring 2 completely different things. So one can't possibly suck.

But with that said, my areas here that I cover are Dish Network and IPTV, not DirecTV, we have a DirecTV staff which does that stuff and we have just had a few new guys come on board to help with the the DirecTV stuff. If there is DirecTV news they can post it on the homepage as they all have access to it. (In fact I encourage them to)
Remember the name of the site is SatelliteGuys, not Scott Reports. I can only report on what I have (and I got to be honest I am actually not to keen on Dish Network, Uverse or even ITVN at the moment eaither) I can just do as I have always done and that is report on things that I deal in.
Boston, I think you should cut Scott some slack on this. He did come out and spell out his feelings about D*, that be basically ignores them since he's not one of their customers, doesn't like their PR department, won't go back since as a former D* customer D* treats him like other's trying to return, no special deals. Scott does say there are D* mods that are free to post D* news when they get it but there really hasn't been any breaking news here besides what comes out on press releases, which anyone can get via Google when they are released.
IMHO you should do what I've done, made the other site my main source for D* news, hints, tips, help since they have a lot more active D* section there. Here when there is some activity it seems that a lot of it is D* vs. E* posts and it's getting to be a bit old. I do admit that I do pop in here since I'm still interested in knowing what Charlie and his gang is up to because who knows, maybe they'll come up with the killer idea that would make it hard to stay with D*, but it would have to be something REALLY good to make me switch, or hell has actually frozen over
Just me two cents.

I do think it is a valid question as to why less Direct TV news. You can however ask the reverse of another site, which I also read and post at. But the real answer to me is the huge difference in mangement of the two satellite companies.
Having a plan and saying you are implementing the plan is no big news.
Sticking your neck out about distants and resulting court action is big news. Completly outwitting your competition and getting distants available to more households than had no lawsuit been filed is huge news. Having programming different than most providers such as Superstations and a wider variety of foreign programming brings questions about that programming and thus is news. Launching two satellites for complete Mpeg4 service is news, and what it means to current receivers. Heck, Charlie himself is news. Dishnetwork has been and is seen by many as sort of a maverick company. That is news. I don't think Direct TV has nearly as many new receivers over the years as Dishnetwork. For better or worse (sometimes better sometimes worse) Dishnetwork receivers have been the focus of many posts while until recently there was hardly anything to say about Direct TV receivers. Controversy seems to make news.
I didn't accept the award, I gave him the award. Now to have Scott accept the award from Charlie just iced the cake. Scott is certainly allowed to have is opions but how can anyone really give them substance when he is all buddy buddy with Egren?
