Any ideas why Coolsat 6000 prices are so up and down on Ebay lately? I know that they are a discontinued model. I got a brand new one not too long ago for $16 plus shipping which was still under $30 with shipping! It does not appear to be a clone and works great! The new ones alot of times go in the $30 to $50 range plus shipping and then the prices tumble again. A few months ago prices were a bit higher. I cannot figure out why a lot of times a used receiver will bring a better price than a new one. Another interesting thing is to look in the sellers feedback and see how many people leave negative feedback to the seller because it is a discontinued model even though it was stated in the description!

I know the eyepatch gang claims there isn't much support for their purposes when it comes to the Coolsats. You will find more going like hotcakes on Ebay.
me 3. i am hoping for more good deals. i picked up a diamond 9000hd (pretty much new in the box) for $100 shipped.
it works great!!! i hope i can get at least one more for the same price. i have been eying the coolsats too, but no HD model has hit that price range. ....fingers crossed...

Do they do Blindscan? I have been thinking about getting one of these. Perhaps now is the time to get one.

no blind scan on the diamond. mine is currently doing OTA and G18. it picked up all 23 OTA channels in my area. The picture is awesome, especially in HD!
i had to manually add the TPs for G18. As soon as AMC-21 is active, it will be added as well.
I want to get a Coolsat HD for the second room, but I will wait for the price to drop. I am still keeping an eye out for either.
Yeah I got a CS6000 for $35 shipped from Canada. Even came with factory firmware. Nice for what I use it for.
I second Empiretc, its a good box even without blindscan. As for entering TP information and channel lists, I use a computer, it makes life easier. An with the S2 stuff, its the only way to enter it using factory firmware.
I am hopefully getting a HD receiver this winter or my wife will be getting one for Christmas! Is there much in HD yet??? I am not sure what receiver or even what manufacturer to consider yet. I better start doing my homework but like others are predicting after the card swap there should be more bargains!!!
there is a lot of HD on the OTA channels in my area. AFAIK, almost all NBC DTV broadcasts are in HD.

or maybe just uses the 4k's cabinet,

Prices may go back up so if you want em cheap get em quick.The eye patch people have restarted support for them so I'd imagine they will go back up or be fewer to be found.Shoulda got a 6000 awhile ago myself for a C-band dish I've had my eye on.
The old joke of the 6000 was "its a 5000 in a 4000 body"
