Please, no. Release them when they're ready, not on some arbitrary, pre-determined "marketing" release date.

You're right. Team Summit is for retailers not customers. It's mostly for training and to provide some entertainment along with being able to socialize with other retailers and Dish employees. Think of it as a huge pep rally for retailers.
Generally the big announcements are for programming changes. There rarely is any equipment announcements although they will show off a lot of new stuff at the trade show. Many things never make it to customers though. Expect to see their best promotional offers this time of year.
There was a remote that came out with the 922 that had a touch pad on it. It was terrible. Nothing beats the remote they currently have.
I like the 40.0 too, and the 32.0. I might try one each of the Sydney and Melbourne remotes to just play with and see how they are when and IF they ever come out with them.
You hit the key words, "for a year" What is the price after that, something comparable to Americas Top 120 ? Probably requires a two year commitment too so you're stuck paying full price for a year or paying an ETF.
Personally I wouldn't mind some announcements to some new channels in HD. I can think of at least four I wouldn't mind have in HD if available.
El Rey ... I'm dreading watch the second season of Dusk Til Dawn in SD (I might just wait until season two drops on Netflix). Lucha Underground is bad enough
Pop ... an indy fed is going to be aired on this channel in the later this year, they have new original programming, like Scitts Creek, which looked interesting but passed because its in SD.
Chiller ... making a push (as noted at the channels upfronts) in the original programming department. While this genre is a key interest to me I won't watch new programming if its in SD.
Showtime Beyond ... movies that aren't included in Showtime Anywhere or aired on the other Showtime Networks. (oddly enough I can find most of these movies in HD on Netflix even though they aren't on Showtime Anytime)
Do you think DISH will partner with Hulu to sell Hulu subs through DISH and have an App on the Hopper/Joeys ? This isn't a DISH must have an Hulu app request it's just something that Hulu is currently negotiating and doing with cable providers. While I wouldn't mind having Hulu Plus available on my Hopper it doesn't bother me if they never add it as my game consoles, tablet and phone does it quite well.

I have been in contact with DISH, so hopefully I will have some information for you as the event happens today directly from DISH. A few retailers have also contacted me and said they would send over info. Those that are there who would like to submit info can send it to tips at satelliteguys.us.
