Dish guide was a little faster .. and you could customize a little more .. however what i hated about the dish guide was the fact that the bottom channel would always be right at the bottom of the tv screen when scrolling ... so the very bottom edge of the guide would always be slightly cut off the screen ...

Turn the over scan option off on your TV and this issue would go away.

overscan is/was off ... they should have a bit of a buffer so that you don't have to look at the very edge of the screen anyway ... that's one thing i do like about the directv GUI.

well seeing what you currently have I guess you figured out you do not have to worry about getting a receiver that has anything like that. all of the current models, especially if you're going fine work great
